Aleksz Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Like others have said, this stuff doesn’t come out if you don’t intend on sacking him.

Fans do jump and call For the inevitable early, however realistically this has been on the wall since October. Why they need a special board meeting to discuss this is just crazy. Oh no doubt, even two more games. Those home games against Villa and Bournemouth were completely wasted. Smith would’ve got us at least 2, maybe 3,4 or even 6 pts from those two games. 5

Noone symbolises doing the same failed thing over and over again more than Vestergaard. Where was he for the 2nd goal by the way? Seems to get a free pass from our fans because he did a good pass once. Our front line dont move because by the time any pass is likely to come their way (after countless sidewise, maybe a small pass forward do a defensive mid that comes back to him) the pitch is so congested because the opposition have had about 5 minutes to get into shape. Nelson at CB showed more pace and progressive nature (and defensive ability) than Vestergaard. But its Nelson that has to play left back, and the whole team has to revert back to verstyball. We pushed so high to try and get a goal back, it was shit or bust, thats why he wasn't there. The system we had yesterday ended with Okoli with the majority of the ball (see WYS podcast analysis as to why this is happening, and why its an issue). I'm not advocating for the system, i'm just saying he's probably our best player on the ball and him and Nelson are probably our best combination. Looking at the system and players we have, I tend to think our best form of defense, is all out attack, and vestegaard could be useful in set piece situations, he's just the best we've got at present. 1
Tielemans63 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Giving it to Kingy seems like a mad move to me. He may love the club, but he's still got 0 experience as a manager and unfortunately we need more than someone with an affinity for the club and not much else. I think we badly need experience right now 3 1
joachim1965 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January 29 minutes ago, DerbyshireFox said: Feel for Marti with the hand he’s been dealt, but it’s reached the point of no return. Yesterday was the final straw. We are unfit, tactically inflexible and clueless, no threat and defensively a shambles. It simply can’t carry on. If only Top would sack himself too. The calls for Kingy are entirely sentimental ones, which to a point I get because people want to feel a connection again. However at present he is not the right man and it is not the right time to be putting him in charge. Nobody would be shocked to see them go after Martin. He’s Tops wet dream come to life. Hopefully he’s sensible enough to not want it 🙏. We need a strong experienced manager, and with hindsight maybe Wilder would’ve been the better way to go in the summer. This job whilst a poisoned chalice, is still a job where someone could be driven by the thought of ‘if we get it right’. I fear an out of work sideways and backwards merchant will be the way we (have to) go, as we’ve been so criminally mismanaged that will be all we can afford. The man is a fraud. What hand has he been dealt. Any manager with an ounce of football knowledge would get a tune out of our current squad. We are not even doing the basics, and that is 100% on the manager. 3

HankMarvin Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Leicester are only able to sign players on loan in this January transfer window as they battle to comply with profit and sustainability rules. might as well lock transfer thread

Craig Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Given how tight the club is on any communication, if they're telling media outlets that they're considering his future... it's already done. 3
Simonb Posted 25 January Posted 25 January 1 hour ago, Nods said: No, do not give it King. It's an unpopular opinion but I always got the impression King lacks personality. He's regarded a club legend because he was there from League One all the way to the Premier League. And fair play, he was a good player for us. But I never understood calls for him to be the next birch. I've never understood the clamour for him to be involved with us any more than someone like, say, Wes Morgan. He strikes me as such a nothing personality. Professional? Sure. He's a good boy. Doesn't mean he's what we need right now. Thats your opinion mate and usually I'd agree with you. But I genuinely think the last thing we need is another 'personality' and 'character'. Theres more than enough egos around the club it is from Top all the way down. I think we need balance.. someone that knows how the club works, who the right people to work with are and to just go about the job quietly We've absolutely no money available for a new manager and are a very unattractive prospect. So someone within the club who knows what we have available will suffice for the rest of the season. Then look in the summer as to whose available.. what financial position we are in and go from there. Genuinely the only way we ever get out this hole is Top selling. He can't fund us anymore, he doesn't have the right people running the club nor the business acumen to bring in sponsorship deals to rebuild us .. it doesn't matter whose in charge when your stuck with a load of shite you can't shift and no money to replace em with does it .. just means come the summer we will be listening to offers for Page, Monga and Nelson after Fatawu leaves for 20m
Spudulike Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Don't think that he comes with a large team so that'll keep any compo down a bit.
