ts_1010 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January My sly bet would be Pearson and King to the end of the season.

Parker Pen Posted 25 January Posted 25 January We could have saved all this nause and money by giving the job to Brian Barry Murphy last summer!

With the right manager our squad should be mid table to play offs 5th or 6th . Oxford will go down, have the lowest budget in the league (bar Sheff Wed). Did excellent to stay up last season. rowett results have been mixed certainly. Good Birmingham, ok at Millwall and good last year Oxford not so this year. He clearly knows the league and could do well. I might be wrong of course. Just think it is not a bad suggestion. pearson not rated at derby, Forest, Watford etc but loved here. Rowett could be the one to set the right standards for our club and get us back on track. Maybe I was a fan when he was a player here and want him to do well rather than it being a viable option. Fully agree, which I don’t think managers above would do any better with. He got sacked at both Brum and Millwall because he was going to get them relegated. Pearson was VERY HIGHLY rated at Watford, whole club loved him and he would have kept them up had he not fallen out with the owners. Also highly rated at Bristol but it went stale. Also highly rated at Hull prior to and post managing us. I think Rowett would just fall out with all our fragile little flowers and ultimately get us relegated.

If we get 9 points deducted we are right in the relegation zone. We need someone who has been there and done it. I would take him over the "the favourite" Russell Martin all day long.

Should have been this option in the summer. Missed the boat. He is in a job and his stock is higher than us so not a realistic option. 1

Wink84 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January We won't appoint a permanent manager until the transfer window is closed.
splinterdream Posted 25 January Posted 25 January maybe the new manager can suggest a technical director

I don't think NP will come back. If it is RM we will go down. MR won't come here and nor will anyone with decent stock. Potter certainly won't. Michael Appleton is another who would not take any rubbish and might be realistic. We need a motivator who is going to be cheap.

For me anyone but another manager that tries to be the players mate! I want someone who’ll go through them for not putting a shift in Hes Sweden manager. Hes not coming here.

Realistically could he take a club like Stoke any higher than their current levels? Other than our current squad, everything is levels above what Stoke has to offer IMO.
