Keeping Burnley up for a bit was great work but he did nothing at Everton - arguably made them worse - and if you listen to Forest fans on various phone ins he's turned the Nuno top 6 side into dull, goalshy plodders who are giving West Ham hope of staying up. In that respect Marinakis might just sack him and make him available. He'd also be disapppinted if he wanted to walk into a club and find a group of players willing to put a shift in. Erm, someone should call in and tell those flower shagging willy pullers they finished 8th. 1

Popular Post ts_1010 Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February We convinced a guy to use his own money to pay off his release clause to join us. Sold any player we could from under him and didn't replace any of them. Left him with an unbalanced and ineffective squad and a toxic atmosphere. Then sacked him before he could buy a single player in the January window. Don't get me wrong I think Marti wasn't the guy we needed. But when you put it like that, how many managers are going to want to come here? Were a career killer in our current state. 19 5

Rubbersoul Posted 7 February Posted 7 February We’re also a bit of a free hit for managers. Come in and keep us up you’ve done a great job. Go down and no one will really care anyway
fox_favourite Posted 7 February Posted 7 February (edited) The more I think about it, the more I would like Dean Smith. I quite liked him, he was never going to keep us up that season, but he did an okay job. He did his best and should have had more games to save us. Bringing in John Terry as a coach was a good idea as he was a proper leader at the top level. For club and country. God, how we need that now. He would work in the championship for us, I think. But we're running out of games and this delay day by day is costing us AGAIN!!! You should learn from your mistakes not keep making them time and time again. Edited 7 February by fox_favourite 1

I’m drinking in Oxford this evening and one member of the group is a massive Villa fan. When I asked him what he thought about Smith he spent five minutes going on about what a fantastic manager he is. His description of Gerrard was “beyond clueless”.
Langston Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Am I missing something with the Dean Smith shouts??? Isn't he still in work???

South Shire Fox Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Id deffo take Dean Smith back with John Terry if they were actually a realistic choice

Silverfox14 Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Club needs to make a decision and appoint a manager now……I do not believe that King is the answer 1

LeePhilpottsBaldSpot Posted 7 February Posted 7 February If he's healthy enough, Pearson feels so maddeningly obvious. I feel like if he wasn't healthy enough or didn't fancy it that would have been briefed out to the media by now.

Not particularly, as he may want to keep private matters being closer doors to avoid public concern etc.

He's been quite forward leaning about health issues in the past, but you're right of course. I just really want Nigel back 😂 1
Kitchandro Posted 7 February Posted 7 February We need someone with a particular set of skills to keep us up. Now I’ve not actually watched Taken but my understanding is that Liam Neeson just kicks everyone’s arse for 90 minutes. So if we hire him to manage these cretins I’ll be happy. Plus his mind games and man-management of Ralph Fiennes when he was causing problems was Fergie-esque. 2

MPH Posted 7 February Posted 7 February 6 hours ago, Tuna said: What happened to the Dean Smith rumours? Board was lit up with this yesterday! he’s put the feelers out that he wants to move back to England. He was in charlotte because his son was at a university near by and was playing in South Carolina. He’s now playing for Charlotte FC’s U21 side but isn’t getting many games so whole family might come home. His son was part of the youth set up at Birmingham so a move back to this area might make sense..
