grth2004 Posted 9 February Posted 9 February I’d take Gerrard right now. Would not have said that a year ago but he’s my favourite option right now 1 1

We're on about being on a interim basis as well, so again different situation to Stoke The big names thing is a concern, I mean any player with an ego is going to struggle taking orders off of someone they have never heard of, hes never really achieved much so hes pretty easy to question. Big Ego players need big names which is why is pretty stupid signing these tippy tappy types, because they believe they are prime ballers even though we all know they aren't. The only small benefit would be if its on an interim we can sack him when we inevitably end up in League 1.

Absolutely pathetic. Don’t worry, we’re just making the most of this bounce under our lad Kingy

If you want a bullshitter that talks a good game but in reality his flawed tiki-taka nonsense doesn’t work, who then melts like an ice cream cone under pressure, then blames everything but his methods then go ahead. He is on a different level in regards to failure than any managers have ever had. He took our club to the brink of ruin within 5 months by refusing to adapt or learn on the job which anyone in any profession worth their salt will do. Beware what you wish for lads. Best going for someone with some substance than a twat in a cardigan Andy King is marginal favourite at 5/2. Russell Martin is second favourite at 4/1 and he's only as low as that because he's available and has been linked with us in the past. There's nothing in it, but that's not stopping some of our fans from reacting to any mention of his name by checking out the fastest way to get to Beachy Head on AA Route Planner. 1

I cannot see him getting a tune out of this group. Paul Heckingbottom and Alex Neill are doing amazing jobs at PNE and Millwall but I think both would tank here. Horses for courses and we need someone who can come in and command respect I just dont see Rowett as that man. Heckingbottom was great at Sheff Utd, arguably a similar profile club to us (that may hurt to read).

They'd heard of Ruud and that went well, let's just agree neither of us would want him long term

Of all the 50 or so names listed by the bookies in the 'Next Leicester manager' market, the worst three are Martin, Gerrard and Coleman. I'd rather King stays in charge than any of those three take it. 4

Neither want to work hard, and neither has the sense, confidence in their own abilities, or bandwidth to recruit skilled resources. So we continue to make lazy bad decisions, not get round to most things that need doing, and the decline continues. It’s a great case study for any business students 1

But please don’t let it be Brussell 1

That alone is an excellent reason to appoint a manager. He also masterminded two impressive wins over Steve Cooper's mighty Foxes in his stint as United caretaker. 1

They then forget that occasionally you have to win a football match. 1
Nolucklcfc Posted 9 February Posted 9 February Judging by what Rowett said pre Birmingham game, it doesn’t sound like we’ve even spoken to him.

winteriscoming Posted 9 February Author Posted 9 February The thing is it’s not as if we’ll get anyone who we’ve thought outside the box. It will be the same box ticking of having championship or premiership experience. 1
Leicesterpool Posted 9 February Posted 9 February Don't know why but feel like something will be announced at 6pm tonight, if it'll be announcement about new manager or another pointless statement.
Outfox the Fox Posted 9 February Posted 9 February https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gary-rowett-drops-leicester-city-10803299 It sounds like Rowett is pitching and being lined up for us? And there are a few social media posts out there, saying the same thing. 1

I also think Rowett would keep us up and get us challenging for the top 6 if here next season. Maybe we need a steady manager, with old fashioned values, to get the basics right for a year or so. Boring appointment, but I think if we appointed him not Marti in the summer we wouldn't be 4th fro bottom even with the 6 points. Edited 9 February by teblin
