Glad it's starting - I'm getting tired of the dumb comments by former and current players. And I would have thought Monty didn't need to run his mouth off in advising the England team via an interview with some gambling site to come up with such quality quips as "I don't think he played the game fairly" to rile the Aussies. Just surprised Smith referenced Mastermind and not Monty's admissions that he used sweetened saliva, sun cream and a zip to change the appearance of the ball in his own book. Apparently that sort of ball tampering's ok because it isn't cheating, it's bending the rules.

 

Like I said, thank god it starts soon and hopefully there'll be less of this dumb nonsense. If you're going to try and sledge do it properly, on the field and with some degree of wit.

At least Crawley was the only one to get himself out, in true 'Bazball' style in the morning session. Starc looks to be the only threat so far. Hopefully we milk the others & him off.

Throw too many wickets away. Game management is so poor. Understand the mentality but today is a day where it’s been a bit suicide and at the minute hasn’t really paid off. Under pressure already.

Australia don’t care about going 2 an over, wear the bowlers down then batter the old ball. Especially when they know come the end of day 2 they could easily be 250 in front. Never too easy to judge until both teams have batted but there’s plenty of runs in this pitch, it’s a shame that Perth is usually the best to bat day 2&3.

Tbf, Crawley’s shot was poor, Brook’s was a nothing shot, the rest were down to decent bowling. 
The worry is that they’re missing 2 gun bowlers.
