"Family values." Someone really wrote that. Get in the bin Bason and co.

I literally just read that bit again. Why does a fan club have/have to adhere to 'family values'.

There's so much guff in that post it's sickening.

'we believe in honest dialogue...' as they use someone in a hidden identity to lambast and be overly critical of a group simply wanting to change.

The biggest irony is that they mention how they feel the Trust should behave around the club/owners, without realising that the Reform group are wanting to do the same but are rejecting it - working together and being a 'critical friend' to the hierarchy. As much as I don't like that phrase, it's all the reform group are doing. Challenging the norms that have been lived in for a while but at the same time suggesting sensible motives and ideas for change.

The point about the funds is annoying me. The latest accounts on the website only show to 2023. They are as bad in being transparent about their financial state as the club.

I did ask on another thread (so maybe it got missed by the FT board members on here),  and having to go through the enquiries email and Mr Digby does not make me think I will get much progress, but, what I'd like to know is:

* Where are the accounts for the previous year please?

* What is the process for asking a question, or getting a question sponsored to be asked at the AGM? ..there is no agenda published that I can see and the published articles provide no guidance on how this gets achieved.

TIA

As a board member I can hopefully answer those just from experience of having been involved in the FTR campaign in the early days.

The accounts are emailed out to members ahead of the AGM, I believe. They have to be finalised and I think that’s in process right now. What @Foxes Trust Reform say is right - the money has been moved to a higher interest bank account so it can earn some money for the Trust there. In fairness this was off the back of pressure by FTR highlighting it as an issue. Ian Bason as Treasurer has done a good chunk of the work on it too.

There’s usually an open Q&A at the AGM so any member in attendance (in the room or virtual) can ask a question direct to the board. If you were emailing ahead of time then send it to [email protected] as a couple of the other board members (including the Co-Chairs) monitor that inbox.

Alternatively, DM me, and I’ll happily pick it up for you!

Thanks for the swift reply

https://foxestrust.co.uk/documents you have a link titled Latest Set of Published Accounts on this page.

The document opens up and it is for accounts at the Trust ending Aug 2024. So assuming, the same period has been adopted for the previous year, the accounts will have completed in Aug 2025. Are you saying it is going to take almost 6 months or more for the 2025 accounts to be published?

How can you be a respectful, critical friend? Those three words contradict each other right there!

I think the Foxes trust values are stuck in the past like the people who run it.

They don't like it up em!

Is there a mechanism (currently not publicly documented) to make a proposal that can be voted on at the AGM?

AHH there is.. in the Rules document, section 25. However, it needs to be submitted 28 days before the meeting, so that boat has been missed. Back to awkward questions on the day then.

As previous, we can submit a special resolution and call for a special meeting.  This is a pain and the trust might be better to run such on the agm night.  Please dm me if you have any suggestions.

One week to go until the Trust Election closes - 5pm on Friday 16th January!

To those Trust members supporting our campaign, if you haven't voted yet, please do so. If you know other Trust members, encourage them to vote too.

We need a big turnout from those that are behind our campaign and the candidates we are supporting in the Election (Chris Rice, Jack Munton, Steve Potter and Andrew Smith).

Legacy board members getting re-elected will only lead to more of the same: a weak and timid Trust that is too cosy with the Club and too out of touch with what LCFC fans need in terms of fan representation right now.

The accounting period ends 31st August and the accounts have to be presented to members for approval at a general meeting which must be logged with the FCA within 6 months of the end of the accounting period.

This is why it makes sense to do it at the AGM and they be published thereafter once approved. All members will get them in advance of the AGM as part of the AGM pack.

Has anyone ever suggested changing the date of the AGM to coincide with a quicker release? They're not very complicated accounts, certainly not to have wait 6 months for. Having an AGM in the Summer would set you up for the coming season and allow you to start initiatives that can run the whole season through.

At present the members are hobbled for half of the season not knowing the financial state and you're reporting on incomplete things that run the course of a season. Members could vote on initiatives at the start of a season and set the direction with a full season of info behind them.

“Family values” “stick together”

Sounds a bit like what someone else said:

Whoever wrote this garbage is on the KP payroll. So called fans. To keep their fans, once we get rid of the two inch dick, 5’3 bitch, you’ll be remembered for what you are encouraging him to do to our club.

(understand this isn’t Foxestrust reform)

I only joined the board at the start of last year as one of the FTR candidates but I think everything was originally set up based on the creation date of the Trust.

I suspect it’s probably never been raised to change it to be honest - or it’s been deemed not worth doing given the work involved (and cost) I would guess - but members can raise a resolution and call a special general meeting to with enough support at any point in time if something needs to be changed so there is still a mechanism

for that.

I’m not saying what you’re proposing doesn’t make sense, I’m just saying there’s probably been other things that have been prioritised in terms of time spend. Remember the Trust ticked along with minimal attention, scrutiny and change for many a year until very recently.

Aye, thank you for the full reply. I suspect your are right in your guess. I appreciate you don't have all the answers.
