Yeah it can definitely backfire if you're not careful. Richie has waited until the end of season to unload on them though as he now has a full summer to get the dead wood out, something Rodgers needs to learn from.

Will be following the transfers of Leyton Orient over summer for sure to see who he brings in and forces out!

They tend to have shorter contracts too so he may not have to force people out if their deals are up

Played 31 won 9 drawn 5 Lost 17……a managerial record we are all familiar with….love the bloke but Nah……..

But in context...

We're not going to get a manager with an incredible win ratio. Unless it's some random caretaker, like RVN. And Fuchs would certainly be better than him!

Fuchs or Wellens could both be good appointments given our present position.

Is'n't Fuchs still running Academy's which would give him a good insight into Coaching individuals and Systems etc.

I also like that Wellens prefers hight energy high tempo performances from his teams. Something we've lacked for a few seasons now.

What I really want is for the Club to get the appointment right and in place early for preseason. Not like last years fiasco.

But we can still do much better than Fuch, he's not ready for Leicester yet.

Who are you thinking?

Jesus Christus! He's hauled Newport to safety. That's got to be all the proof necessary. We've gone through how many managers since Maresca and all they've done is watch us slide down the greasy pole. Now a substantial number of youse are against employing him because he played for us! If I were him I'd think twice about coming back here - because, if this forum is anything to go by, he'll be expected to have secured the title by Christmas. No pleasing some people - pint glass half empty the lot.

I've not got anyone in mind because I'm not a DOF.

Hull City as an example, they got Sergej Jakirović from the Turkish league, and had managed Dinamo Zagreb before that. He's managed 342 games, 57% win percentage and got to the playoffs with a transfer embargo.

We've a new director of football, he needs to earn his money and find someone similar, it's possible.

The issue is not so much the manager but the structure above them don’t believe any manager can be successful until the current structure is destroyed. That includes the owner interfering when he knows nothing about football. Once that is agreed then maybe a manager will have a chance

On the face of it I can respect that interview from Wellens, but Orient fans in the comments are pointing out that the troublemakers are players that he tracked and signed.

Seems a bit more like a Rodgers meltdown blaming others for his own failures than setting the standards himself.

Why not Ex-Leicester, a member of the title-winning side. He knows the club and probably has a better idea than the last ones we've had.

I'd rather we didnt and save their reputation among fans

Roy Keane, Olly at the wheel, Stevie G, Andy King, Gary Rowett, Frank Lampard, Bryan Robson, Frank McLintock, need I go on?

Hardly the same calibre, Fuchs 31 games 29% win percentage in his first job.

If he wasn't a title winner and affiliated to the club he wouldn't even get a mention on here.

Its not the same club anymore

Would rather give Fuchs a go than someone like Darren Ferguson (not that I believe that rumour anyway)

However we are a massive job needing a lot of work that can easily go wrong, would rather not put a big dent into his career when he has had a decent start

He would. Up and coming manager who's taken a club in free fall and saved them.

...because we've lost every single leader the club once had. All the more reason to bring one back!

King was a title winner, from the same era and also won league 1 and the championship but he didn't win a single game as a interim and was also responsible for the debacle of a pre-season for the laziest team in the league that resulted in a relegation because of it.

Kingy's not done us any favours, there's no room for sentiment in football.

Fuch isn't ready and won't get the job in a season we have to get promotion at the first attempt.

The main concern for me is how likely anybody from that era would be to call out Top/Rudkin or criticise, even behind closed doors. I think we need to stay well away from anybody with previous connections, get an ‘outsider’ in to fix the culture.

Like Ruud ?

Top would probably allow Fuchs more freedom than any outsider will get as we have seen

You need an outsider with the right kind of mentality as well, not just an outsider.

The main thing is you need Top / Rudkin to listen to anybody other than themselves - not sure how likely that is regardless of who’s the manager tbh.
