Really does amaze me how Derby and Forest never get tired of the same old shit about our rivalry with them. On their forum it's full of the same shit. "Cup final for them" "just another game"

Yet it's going to be their biggest attendance of the season.

On a serious note; him and Nelson as stating CBs would be very decent at this level.

Relatively low block, counter attack on the wings, midfield 3 of Winks, Ricardo and James - it’s probably the best we’ve got at the moment. Our issue with that is at full back

This will be another inept performance and loss.  Its all the more painful because of who the opposition is!!

Same old, same old!

Whatever our current shambles, in the 18 years since they humiliated themselves in the premier league, their 'brand' in wider football world is now par with Huddersfield, Preston, Bradford or Blackpool. Not us.

Far from being a highlight or cup final to play them, it sums up our demise. The lowest of low ebbs.

I think it gives them a naive sense of self worth to think a team cares about them in that way.

Everyone just thinks of them as the laughing stock that got 11 points.

A game on paper we should win easily. But I bet we melt and get spanked.

I'm not sure what we mean sometimes when we talk about being a good team 'on paper'. With reference to one-time price tags, wages and international appearances, yes, by those meaningless measurements we should be herculean. But almost all of our players in every position have been worse than the corresponding Derby players this season. Isn't that 'on paper' too?

And when it comes to how successful our players have been at this level or any other in England, shouldn't that count towards how good we are 'on paper' too? Faes has had one decent season at this level, in contrast to the woeful one he's having now, and two equally woeful ones in the league above. Winks one good and one very bad season at this level and a dire one in the league above. Mavididi hasn't been much better. Soumare has been awful for us at any level over all four seasons, Daka over all five and Kristiansen, and Okoli, throughout their time with us. Ayew and Reid have never been any good for us either, and are pretty much past-it. Skipp has never been any good for us. Vestergard has had one decent season in the second tier and been crap in the others. Ricardo has managed one decent season (again in the second tier) out of the past five, and is also past-it. Carranza has an utterly unremarkable record at any noteworthy level. Thomas has been crap wherever he's been, at any level, for four seasons. Hamza hasn't had a good run of form for us this decade. Our youngsters, for all the hype are - with the exception of Nelson and arguably Jakob - unproven.

That leaves Fatawu, with one decent season in the second season, mostly poor performances upto his injury in the league above, and a thus-far uninspiring campaign at this level. And then there's James and Ramsey. Maybe I'm forgetting someone, but surely all of this is 'on paper' too.

But I do fully agree that we'll probably get spanked!

Outside of Burton, Nottingham and Leicester they are the epitome of footballing nobodies.

Forest's cuck.

Cifuentes and Eustace have played each other twice, each winning once, but given the mentality of our squad I think Derby will win this one 3-1. Eustace favors a counter-attacking style of football that seems to really work well against us. We struggle transitioning back into shape when teams win the ball higher up the pitch. If Faes is on the team sheet tomorrow Derby are almost guaranteed a goal on a fast-break or through a penalty. I think Derby's mid block will frustrate us and force us into the typical game plan we see every week: going out wide with our only hope being a wonder goal outside the box. Managers know the winning formula now to play against us: seize the early momentum, play aggressively for the first 10-15 minutes and opportunities will present themselves to go 1 or 2 up and put the game to bed within the first half. Ideally, I would like to see us come out swinging: first 10 minutes playing high-tempo football, pinning Derby back in their own half, and showing real intent to put up more than 1 goal.  Do I expect to see that? No.

I would be happy to see Nelson & Souttar start, I'm tired of watching Vestergaard & Faes. I'll be happy when they are both gone.

Agreed, although I don’t think Vesterguaard has been bad this season.

Any result is a win-win.

a win = a win.
a draw = not a total embarrassment.

a loss = Marti should hopefully get sacked.

Happy ****ing weekend lads.

I lose count of how many cup finals we've actually played in since they played in one! If it's a cup final for anyone it's them.

Tbf, there is no rivalry with Derby. Might be different for people who live on the Derby border but for most people its another game

Mate, I'm quite happy to admit I can't stand them.

In the 18 fcking years since they permanently humiliated their brand . the only teams they've played whose names stretch beyond an immediate fanbase are Leeds, Forest (much as it sickens me to say it) Man U in a cup game. And now us.

What for us is the nadir of the last 13 years, tomorrow is their fourth highpoint.

We start really slowly and go a goal down in the first 10 minutes. Then we have the bulk of possession but are ponderous and create little, Derby hit us on the break just before HT and go in 2-0 in front.
We improve in the 2nd half after making a couple of subs, clawing a goal back after 75 mins, then we huff and puff trying to score a worldie but ultimately fail.

4 or 5 yellow cards for us result in a nervy second half wondering if who might get sent off by yet another card happy ref.

We sink further down the table, calls for the managers head fall on deaf ears as we battled back in the second half and the manager will again reflect on the defeat during the following week.

Sheepshaggers 2 Groundhog Day FC 1

The shaggers will take an early 2 goal lead. We’ll rally slightly after half time and get 1 back, then Abdul, Mav and JJ will resort to having to take pot shots from outside the box because they’ve shut up shop and we can’t break them down.

You heard it here first 😑

I know Ayew wears number 9 but in my mid he is not a centre forward or even a striker. He slows any attack down to a crawl !. I don't mind him as a late sub but I really don't want to see him start.

I guess you could go mavididi up top and BDR at 10 but its more a case of lack of options rather than me wanting to see ayew up top
