Since one of our current players and a number of ex players are playing, I think this deserves to be a topic worthy of discussion.

Coulibaly is still technically our player and started for Mali.

Mahrez is a Premier League great given nowhere near the acclaim he deserves.

Even Man City fans I've talked to complain they've not really replaced him either...  I guess the real nickname our EPL winning side should have is the 'irreplaceables' :P

The best footballer who's ever played for us. (Mahrez not Patson)

Comfortably the best footballer I’ve actually seen play for us. I grew up listening to tales of Frankie Worthington and Sep Smith, neither of whom I was around for so can’t compare.

I idolised Wortho in my early years supporting City, as he was the most skilful and technically gifted player we had ever had until Mahrez arrived.

Difficult to choose between them on those qualities, but Mahrez achieved more.

He'd still walk into our current team!

It looks effortless when players know what they are doing.  I'm just jealous of any team that passes into space and the winger runs into it.

His control with the outside of his foot was unbelievable.  That and Madison pinging balls across the pitch into space for Barnes with the outside of his boot were great to see.  Now we get JV blasting the ball into a crowded area for Ayew to not control and cause a counter attack.

Saw Maradona live twice. So he has to be top of my list.

Edit: Mahrez' first touch was/is second to none in world football.

I made the mistake of watching the Zambia game instead of the Wrexham/Sheffield Utd match earlier.

Patson must have touched the ball all of about 3 times.  Woeful game.

Indeed, pass the ball into space for any attacking player to run onto. Passing to feet means nobody moves. Used to hate it when I'd pass and my team mate would say, "who's that for?" It's for you if you could be bothered to break into a trot!
