I don't think there's any coincidence Mavididi has also been horrendous this season, Cifuentes hasn't a clue how to set a side up to attack and defend in unison. Whilst our squad has weaknesses, we are underperforming and the causation is multiple things.

A lot of our problems are diminishing the talents of the very few half decent players we have and he is a victim of that. It was clear under Enzo that whilst he's a maverick, he actually needs structure in the team for him not to toil. He will still utilise his unpredictability but as we have seen when he's just given no support he does not shine.

Whilst our squad has weaknesses, we are underperforming and the causation is multiple things. Our whole club is just a mess and very few players will still perform here. If he has anything about him he should get out whilst he can as he will utilise his strong defensive ability (rare for an attacking winger) with his high ceiling of creativity. Like many who have left us in the last 2-3 seasons. He will go on to far better things.

Also forgetting on Stephi hes basically got nobody behind him at all times. Lose that confidence and you start ti second guess making runs and being creative because one mistake and Car Crash Luke is behind you chuckling to himself as he hands the opposition a guilt edged chance.

Fatawu's progress as a pmayer has been absolutely frozen at a key time for him, after a long injury. I level a large portion of that shit pie on Marti and the clueless defensive systems or lack of

Agree with most of this in fairness.

I just wish he would put himself above the others rather than allow himself to become as bad as those around him.

Look at JJ, our stand out player week on week out (Doesn't take much, granted).

Some of that is perhaps down to personality though I guess, hes probably mentally stronger etc.

Just seems like Fatawu's head has gone. Whether hes fed up, or just thinks hes better than anyone else so wants to play for himself...

I guess either way, like you say, it all boils down to management.

Of course it doesn’t ALL boil down to management, what’s that quote about horses and water 🤔

Any of us in any walk of life need to want to do something & do it for ourselves before any one else.

Yes we will sometimes get a boss you click with and the day is a little more enjoyable but at the same time if you don’t get on then personal pride gets you up in the morning.

I never get this forum in virtually any thread, we have threads slating every single player but then you all say all roads lead to the manager, we’d be swapping managers out after every loss if it was run by FT, nope didn’t work get rid, ok he won let’s stick with him..ooh no was just the players doing their own thing get rid.

I remember when Thomas Frank was getting glowing references on here, with the old how far we have fallen look at Brentford they everything we used to be and we should have got Frank…now on here he’s a laughing stock with Bournemouth & Brighton starting to go the same way because they have hit their ceiling, this year it’s Sunderland and their manager getting the praise until the Premier puts everything back in its place.

We don’t have the best squad in this league and by some distance, we need players that are mentally strong & now people will go back to Pearson only signed mentally strong players the club is a disgrace etc again players being let off…the players need to look at themselves, Mavididi walks on the pitch with a slapped 4rse face Enzo was right within 5 minutes you know if he’s going to have a stinker or not and that’s on him, he’s got his orders and I imagine they are quite simple …run at the FB ffs, why does someone need to take him into another room before he goes out and go all American Drill-Sgt on him to get him fired up.

They are pampered tw4ts that get away with murder on here despite the mentioned threads because all roads lead back to a single person

Q well he picks them

Barnes wasn’t shooting from everywhere and trying to do everything himself. Barnes was a team player.

And still got slated on here every week.

Fatawu is in a tough situation. Most of Marti’s tactics this season have just been to get it to Abdul and pray.

Fatawu is still managing to be incredibly productive considering what’s happening around him.

Barnes also constantly received the same exact criticism on here.

Barnes wasn’t having pot shots from 40 Yards out.

He’s a significantly better player than Fatawu.

Please read what I’m writing. I’m not saying Fatawu is better than Barnes (I don’t believe he is, for the record). Even Barnes wasn’t good enough for this crowd.

Fatawu is a very good winger for this division and still one of the best players in the league.

Looks like club playing hard ball saying they want to keep as he’s part of their plans.  Just trying to up the fee

Abdul’s ceiling is that of a PL winger.

Has he regressed under Marti? 100%

It’s genuinely best for both parties to sell him whilst we should get a half decent fee.

Obviously can only compare him to Enzo’s season so

23/24 - 40 games 6 Goals 13 assists

25/26 - 25 games 4 Goals 7 assists

Chances are if he stays he beats his tally for 23/24 🤷‍♂️

A fair shout but that’s why stats shouldn’t  be used without rationale.

He was new to the country as a 19 year old lad, he was taken out for a stretch of games if his form dipped.

Also, he wasn’t considered the main guy as that mantle was held by Vardy or KDH.

Output is the 1st thing a scout would look at, it would also be the marker for a fee.

After that it would be, he’s doing it after a year out with a major injury before we look at who he’s playing with and is he a nice guy etc

I completely agree and why I’ve said that he has a PL ceiling, I’d not say the same about Stephy as a comparison.

We should get a decent fee, but we probably got under market value for Madders, Barnes etc in recent years.

I can't see Bournemouth wanting such an inconsistent erratic player despite his moments of brilliance.

Also recovering from a major injury, playing with a poorer team and worse manager, making this year’s output even more impressive.

But he’s our outlet 9/10, he’s been below par for more games than not IMO.

Which isn’t totally on him, Marti’s lack of tactics are a big reason for this.

But, I stick with my original point, Abdul has a PL ceiling but his value will only decrease the longer that he’s here.

We will sell him either this window or the summer, it’s nailed on.

I think Fatawu at 21 is a better player than Barnes at 21 and Barnes didn't have a serious injury under his belt either.

Barnes was 21 in 2018 / 2019 season.

That season he was on loan at West Brom and scored 9 goals in 26 games.

I’d have taken Barnes at 21 over Fatawu.

This is why football is a game of opinions though! Neither are bad options when they’re on form.

Fatawu at 19 obliterated the chances created record in a Championship season.

This season he's on 4 goals and 7 assists in 25 games despite having to play in the most tepid team you've ever seen.

It’s a tough 1 because 1 it means Monga is pushed up or do we realise he’s not a starter yet so 2 do we have to get a replacement RW if so what’s the point as we also need a midfielder, LB & striker.

Personally leave it till the summer, his stats will hopefully bloat the fee and there will be more options in summer.
