Often wondered if Abdul allows the club to freewheel, never needing to evolve beyond what he offers cos he will save us often enough to make it a plan.

Is this one of those decisions? A fair point. I just think he is potentially the difference between us getting relegated this season. And that would be catastrophic. If he keeps us up and continues delivering this season, he will be even more sought after in the summer, when we have time to actually recruit a proper replacement. He is with us until 2029—there's no rush to sell while he delivers value for us on the pitch at a time when we're struggling. Edited 31 December 2025 by CloudFox 1

The fee they get for Semenyo will buy Fatawu and another good player. Bournemouth have a very sound buisness model.

I’ve got no doubt they will bring in someone else, but it’s always a gamble whoever you bring in and they have plummeted a bit recently. As we know, a couple of bad signings and you can be in trouble.

It's not surprising and a completely understandable move that any of our players would love to make. Life under Aiyawatt and King Power. Yep shows how far we've fallen. There was a time where nobody outside the big 6 could touch our top players but now we'll sell to anyone just to get some money to pay the bills!
Pliskin Posted 31 December 2025 Posted 31 December 2025 He will leave, if we receive a fee in the region of £30m, we can ill afford to turn it down. This is where my genuine fear of relegation will become a reality, because we will piss about negotiating until the last week of the window, and then attempt to bring in a replacement on deadline day. If the right amount comes in, unfortunately we will have to just take it and try to replace him with a couple of players quickly. 4
Dahnsouff Posted 31 December 2025 Posted 31 December 2025 Fatawu goes, Carranza goes, Ramsey returns to Burnley JJ signs, Antonio signs, loan RW, loan AM That is about it. 2
Edingleyfox Posted 1 January Posted 1 January With Carranza probably leaving and Daka/Ayew nearly out of contract Leicester need 2 strikers not to mention a number 10 and a full back. I would accept anything over £25m for Abdul. I just don’t have confidence that if Leicester will reinvest the money wisely or that it will be made available but hopefully they can complete the Jordan James deal sooner rather than later

Bournemouth have seen Leicester keep good players on massive wages. They are infinitely more aware of their status as a premiership club than we ever were. But to be fair to LCFC, we did win the premiership, you're allowed to get a little carried away after that. Cost us though eh? 1

Sting Posted 2 January Posted 2 January He's a good player when he turns up, but too inconsistent to be anything more than a sub in the premier League imo.
Big_Nige Posted 2 January Posted 2 January He’s potentially class, has all the tools, but he needs coaching. Enzo was turning him to a world beater. I get the impression Marti is giving him too much freedom to do his own thing, which can lead to either A) scoring from the half way line or B) making brain dead decision after brain dead decision I’d sell at the right price, but a player of his talent should be ripping up the league. And it’s just another in the long list of Marti’s failings 4

fkas Posted 3 January Posted 3 January Sunderland and Napoli also being linked. Is it too much to hope we get a bidding war that drives the price up over £30m?
Md9 Posted 3 January Posted 3 January Problem we have is if we don’t go up his value may go down which we obviously can’t afford so we may have to sell now to get a decent fee for him. Wouldn’t want him to go but i feel like it’s probably the best time to see if there is interest

Not even close. Okay theres potential he might be a decent player in the right team / with the right manager but all I am interested in is how he is for us, because thats all that matters. At best he's average, at worst he's an absolute liability at times. For me, personally, hes gone from being one of my favourite players on and off the pitch to one of the most annoying on and off it. Ego has grown at the same rate his ability has diminished. 1

Ego has grown at the same rate his ability has diminished. A lot of our problems are diminishing the talents of the very few half decent players we have and he is a victim of that. It was clear under Enzo that whilst he's a maverick, he actually needs structure in the team for him not to toil. He will still utilise his unpredictability but as we have seen when he's just given no support he does not shine. I don't think there's any coincidence Mavididi has also been horrendous this season, Cifuentes hasn't a clue how to set a side up to attack and defend in unison. Whilst our squad has weaknesses, we are underperforming and the causation is multiple things. Our whole club is just a mess and very few players will still perform here. If he has anything about him he should get out whilst he can as he will utilise his strong defensive ability (rare for an attacking winger) with his high ceiling of creativity. Like many who have left us in the last 2-3 seasons. He will go on to far better things. 6 1
