I just saw this news and I said out loud "oh my god"

What the **** are we doing?

Is this what we are about as a club?

What more needs to be written about the decision makers at the club?

I don't want to be associated with such actions. It's not that difficult to run a business and keep within your financial constraints.

It's not...!

I don't care what you thought, or how unlucky you feel you are.

Then getting a light slap on the wrist 6 points deduction, and now we seem to be again feeling hard done by???

I'm utterly baffled and lost as a fan. I hate their sheer incompetence.

The fact we are appealing just shows how incompetent our owners are..

Do they honestly think they have been hard done by when Everton got 6 for being £19m over and we were £20m.

Clubs a joke now

Everton appealed and went from 10 points to 6.

Forest appealed and got no reduction, but also no increase.

The notion that you'll get an increase automatically for not bending over and taking what you're given isn't based on anything. They could review the whole case, and come up with another outcome, but it mostly went against us anyway. The bit that didn't, the premier league appealing the decision also, to get more points on us. So quite honestly we need to try and defend ourselves the best we can, and that includes also appealing.

I know it's frustrating and we all want it done and dusted, but even without an appeal it's still going to drag on because of the premier league.

Isn’t this what Man City keep doing?

Holy shit can we ban the next person to claim it's arrogant to appeal a ****ing ruling.

No it isn't, it's just normal, what planet do you live on?

People are worried as it could potentially cost us more points; however I believe that it’s common for clubs to appeal, although we shouldn’t as we got off lightly, I can’t recall a club losing further points so probably feel they genuinely have nothing to lose.

Called it.

My guess is we drag this out past the end of the season and leave the league not knowing what to do.

Scenes when the EFL turn around and, because it's not clarified which league we'd end up in dependant on the outcome of the appeal at the time places are confirmed, they expel us altogether and Top and his sycophants have to work out how to keep the club afloat on National League income.

We're appealing because clubs literally always appeal, that's just how it works. I can't remember a points deduction for a PSR / FFP issue where a club hasn't appealed?

The extreme likelihood is our appeal will just be rejected and we'll keep the 6 point deduction but there's an off chance it might be reduced to 3 or 4 points which could make all the difference.

Finally someone with sanity posted, completely agree that we are looking to shave a few points off which does look like a possibility, agree that worst case scenario we will still be left with the 6 points

For me the premier league appealing is actually worse then us as the panel has already stated that our behaviour was aggravating already, so it gives the panel a very high bar to jump to now issue some sort of fine or points deduction for that particular offense

Surely we've only appealed because the Prem want to see us hit more ... to counteract it?

That’s what I was thinking.  It looks as if the PL appealed against the decision, so we had no choice but to counter appeal.  Attack is the best form of defence….

I assume the thought that we could be punished further for appealing is based on nothing more than the process for appealing red cards/player bans where 'frivolous appeals' are punished more severely.

I also assume that actually this is not the case when appealing points deductions as it could come across as unduly vindictive if the PL/EFL imposed further sanctions for clubs having the temerity to appeal such a punishment. I imagine CAS would have a field day.

Football yes, the club not so much.

The club are obviously at fault for the spending, I don't have a problem with us being punished, as much as I think PSR / FFP are completely ridiculous laws, they're laws we knew and broke.

But on the flip side, I have absolutely no problem with the club appealing every single think the EFL / PL try to do if it claws us back any points.

I don't like King Power, I'm fed up of Top, I agree, I want new owners. But the people that want us to get relegated just to somehow spite them or because they think it'll force them to sell are really ****ing weird. If we stay up, there's half a chance we get to spend some money this summer and go back to actually being able to enjoy matches a bit. If we go down, the snowball continues to roll and we keep struggling financially for god knows how many more years to come. We'll have been relegated from the Prem with a record wage bill and then we'll probably be relegated from the Champ with a record wage bill. That's not a record I want nor is it a millstone round the neck of the club I want, I'm so ****ing sick of this shit.

So as far as I'm concerned, Top can appeal his little heart out. You go Top. The people that think we should just take our medicine and that it's somehow any kind of bad thing that the owners are appealing are... ****ing weird.

It’s more than it’s been going on for years and we are just fed up of hearing about. This just drags it out more.

Had we not messed around fighting in the first place, we might have taken the punishment as a PL side and in a better position. All the delaying has done is meant we have taken it at our most vulnerable, when we were already struggling and our squad quality has deteriorated massively.

Regardless of jurisdiction and poorly written rules, we ****ed up and cheated the rules and to our detriment ultimately.

Personally, what would have given me more respect for the club would have been if they’d accepted wrong doing and taken accountability and therefore the punishment. But at the same time, highlighted the holes in the PL and EFL’s rules but taken the high ground by accepting it but whilst laying down a legal challenge to make sure their rules were changed for future.

What are you on about Leicester was never in control of the timeline. Football is being mismanaged by corrupt leaders at the EPL and EFL we beat them before. This time they lost on multiple points which got us down to 6 and there is still room for argument. The EPL and EFL brought football into legal disputes only right we fight them.

I'm not distracting from the absolute mess that Top has landed us in but -

The fact the Premier League know that us going down could cause us to go out of existence and they've pushed for this is wild.

They went for -20. Only ones this really punishes are the fans. Imagine taking 20 points off a team when so many of us have spent so much money following the season to date. You're basically writing a clubs season off in an office room.
