Realistically, It would be good to get someone in on June 15th.

Transfer window opens then.

Contracts run out on June 30th, so gives a couple of weeks planning etc.

more than likely won't happen though

Of course it won't.... that would show they have a plan .... which I doubt very much

Yeah, can't argue with that.

Local news here today says Notts County have already signed three promising new players. Which goes to everyone's point.... get a fuching move on!!!

No Betting odds today..

Russell  Martin incoming???

I bloody hope not.

If that tw@t is appointed then it proves they have learnt fvck all from past failures, and McCarron is either a clueless d1ck or a puppet used as a front for Teflon Jon to hide behind.  In which case a waste of time and a salary.....

Russell Martin is not going to be our next manager.

Thanks for that.

Bit if you're sure it's not him (and how have you come to that conclusion) then who.

Or are we all still playing the manager guessing game still

They have no urgency in their DNA so the concept of getting a move on is alien to them .... they are probably so deluded the actually think the have to do little or nothing as promotion is a certantity ... which sadly the past few seasons proves is not quite the case

Sign some hungry players. As per @spacemunkys recent posts. They've done some decent business already for this league and on frees at that! We will get left behind if we wait too long.

Our owners had issued a statement basically saying that we won't be breaking the bank going into this season.

We've done well with getting in quality loans in recent times and hopefully we can continue with that.

Would still love to see someone who's a proven player for this level, but happy so far.

You often speak with a certainty that you can't back up. I don't think you're any more ITK than the next man.

Obviously you're entitled to yor opinion and I hope you're right that Martin will not be our next manager but you're just speculating.

I have come to that conclusion because: a) there hasn’t been a single credible source linking him with us; b) it would make no sense whatsoever; c) the KP group, for all its  mistakes, has no track record of taking speculative punts on managers whose stock has fallen as much as Martin’s; snd d) I think he’ll try to rebuild his career overseas.

Who will we get instead? I have no idea mate :D

We go on holiday next weekend and aren’t back till late June.

Guarantee we are still faffing at that point, too.

We are a f***ing embarrassment. A shambles.

I have never once claimed to be iTK. And my track record of dismissing rumours about Russell Martin joining us is second to none—I was doing it ‘23 and again in ‘25 and I was right both times. I’m confident I will be again this time ;)

Rowett wasn’t exactly riding the crest of wave in terms of recent success having just been given the bullet from a team in the relegation spots.

Given the fact that we are now in an even worse position than when he was appointed, I’d imagine they would view Russel Martin as quite the coup.
A manager with a promotion from the division above that went on a 25 match unbeaten run.

Ironically, apart from Ranieri!

Rowett had a clear track record of turning around clubs in trouble. There was logic to his appointment, even if it didn’t work out.

Yes, Martin got promoted with Southampton but since then his considerable shortcomings have been exposed in spectacular fashion. He’s not comparable to Rowett.

We have suffered three relegations in four seasons largely because we forgot how to defend, which resulted in a total collapse in confidence across the team. Martin is famous for not being able to coach a defence. After all the frustration and misery of the past two seasons, we finally have the chance to move in a new direction. Appointing Martin would be tantamount to saying, “Well the last two years have been great—let’s just carry on the same way!”

Even with our owners, I just can’t see it.

Recently Birmingham and an  Oxford sacking.

Excluding his time in the prem because where we are now is worlds apart, In the Scottish league he had 7 league games, Rangers just finished like they started.

I’m not sure how you can say he isn’t comparable they both had shit records Rowett should’ve done better as should’ve Martin.
Rowett was managing a former Prem team in a shit division and managed 2 wins in 14.

Whilst Martins stock may be down for championship clubs, I wouldn’t be totally dismissive of his chances as a league one manager.
I hope it isn’t him but who knows.

You have highlighted our defensive records, but equally the last couple of seasons including that horrific Prem run setting records for blanks, and more recently Rowett finishing with a goal a game for 14 games could mean they prioritise attacking.

It then depends how you look at his time in 23/24

4th best attack in the league 12th worst defensive record.

Maybe they will be swung by the attacking record or the thought that he can progress the club in the next couple of years to a top end championship club.

I can only think that people who want RM as manager are anticipating Lucy P may do something erotic at half time in front of the West Stand every home game.

Your points make sense my friend, and I truly hope you are correct.

Like you I have no idea as to who it will, or even should be.

But to contradict myself a smidge, I just can't shift this nagging gut feeling that the lure of Russell "B-Tec Rodgers" Martin's brand of possession based dog sh1t will be too great for the incompetent, clueless Nepo Baby too resist.

His so far unending quest to play like Man City, so that we can "Promote next season"  is too ingrained in the waddling little horse lover,  and I fear with Martin's out of work status, in 'Kvnt' Top's eyes it's too good of an opportunity not to repeat the same mistake of offering a ludicrous salary to get him to "lower his standards" and.join us in League One.
