We've heard it's David Wagner. I work for a well-known sports broadcaster and Wagner fits because a) Out of Work so no compensation and b) Did a good job at Huddersfield and Norwich working on a shoestring budget.

The only other one we've heard is interesting you is Alex Revell at Stevenage.

I still think if we genuinely want a foundational blueprint built, we should bring in Ralph Hasenhuttl, give him 3-4 years to get back to the prem, and try at the earliest moment to bring in Ralf Rangnick to oversee the club if he decides to step down from Austria.

I’ve read this a couple of times and have had a busy day. So we are interested in both of those or Wagner is somewhere else.

Wagner is head of youth development at RB Liepzieg so not sure if compensation is required?

I've got a mixed view about Wagner, he was a bit unlucky at Norwich, getting the boot, straight after a Play Off loss, but did well at Huddersfield. Also, a Development Coach at Leipzig since 2024, is hardly a great thing to put on your CV.

Perhaps the biggest negative is the fact that his Set Piece Coach at Norwich was a certain ..... Andrew Hughes!

His Assistant at Norwich was Christoph Buhler, who currently is a Coach at Derby.

As for Revell, he might be OK, he did well at Stevenage last season, but hasn't got a great win record in his time there.

Definite delusions of grandeur Norwich firing him after losing to Leeds that year. Leipzig have a decent coaching set up and maybe a year or two out of being first team manager will have got him his energy back. Could do a lot worse with some of the names being mentioned.

Wagner sounds too flaky to hire as a Manager now -

'David Wagner lost his enthusiasm for coaching midway through his spell in charge of Norwich City.'

"I can’t imagine that anymore," he told Sport 1. "Every day is new, exciting, and thrilling now – that hasn’t been the case as a coach recently. I’m doing something new and I think that’s great.

"I often asked myself how long I wanted to continue doing this coaching job...'

"One thing was clear to me: being a club coach no longer appealed to me like it had in previous years."

Interested in Revell (look at his record at Orient as well as Stevenage - he's 'up and coming' and affordable. But the main man according to our insider is Wagner. Depends on whether he wants to leave Germany, but Leicester are the biggest club he's been linked with and our source has indicated he'd be willing to listen to an offer.

No Russell Martin links - think he'll resume whatever's left of his managerial career abroad. Dave Challinor will go to Blackburn with his back room staff from Stockport.

We did hear a rumour about names that haven't been mentioned on here - interestingly, Roberto Di Matteo was linked and so was Richie Wellens. I've been told they're not being considered.

Interesting, I hear Martin had additional talks over the weekend and is looking more and more likely to be the manager

When was he at Orient?
Can’t find anything apart from him being at Stevenage.

Big club - good youth players and he'll have contacts to bolster the squad with younger hungrier players. I honestly think if he can be prised from Germany, he'll be the man to rebuild you on a budget.
