I just can’t see this being the case … that would be every manager since peak Vardy that’s not wanted to sign a starting striker. That’s too many managers that have ignored our glaring lack of goal scorer to not point the finger upstairs

Think great strikers are just really really hard to find. Every single one of our managers would want to sign one. That’s why we have to look in obscure leagues - like the Northern Conference league or hopefully, with a bit of luck the Slovenian Prva Liga. Or even better nurture our own academy players, expose them to men’s football with a short loan then bring them back into the first team. Can only hope.

 The move was intended to last until the end of the season and he made six appearances, scoring two goals in their 2–0 win against Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium on 16 April

How can a striker not be the absolute priority? We've got only 1 on the books currently and even he's a total punt at this level

Because Martin see's Cullen as a number #9 regardless of wether or not we agree. He said it outright, "Cullen is a number 9". So that is two strikers going for 1 spot. 

 

Currently we have 4 senior CB's. One is out for the season, two look to be leaving and one is terrible. So, one (poor) CB going for 2 slots makes it an issue and most definitely no.1 priority position.

I know nothing about this lad but the last time we signed a player who'd banged in 30+ goals the previous season at a non-league club playing on the Fylde peninsula it worked out rather well, so gerrimin.

I watched him at Tamworth last Saturday. Didn't stand out to me but that's just one game. Did get on the scoresheet with a header in the 6 yard box though.

Playing BDCR as our striker in our first two games is just a bit weird.

As you say, if Cullen is a 9, and BDCR has played the majority of game in his career as a 10 (which is true), and you're clearly desperate to get both on the pitich, why would you not play BDCR as 10 and Cullen as the 9  ?

This in itself feels like some sort of philosophical self referential puzzle and has made the whole question of Danny Ormerod's paternity even more confusing!

Saying we are waiting for the right guy etc is a total myth. If that was true we've been waiting for at least 5 years if not longer. Just get another striker in for gods sake. If we had two last season that could have chipped in with 10ish each we would have stayed up. 

 

The real reason is this. Leicester city hate strikers.

It's one thing to play BDR in the number 9 role which he blatantly cannot do, but even in the deeper number 10 position he doesn't excel. He should be nowhere near the starting 11 in any position.
