Why do the club still not report on these games?

They stopped doing u21 game updates like 2/3 years ago I believe? Most clubs have a dedicated academy social media page

Cheers. I can’t work out why they would, seems strange thinking.

Especially when our academy is one of the more positive things about the club..

Presume the plan with Hutchinson is to play first half of season with u21s then loan him out. Rotated between u18s and u21s a fair bit didn’t he last season so perhaps they see senior football too big of a jump?

Neale needs a loan, Infact I think he should be on our bench but clearly squad too big now.

Gray again similar to Hutchinson perhaps.

Carr same as above.

De lisle next interesting player for us, hopefully one who has signed pro terms with us (presumably so as he’s 17?)

is there anyone on that bench who we should keep an eye on? Not sure I’ve seen anyone of them play yet

Think they would loan now if they had a decent offer.

Lot of managers don't like taking player on there first loan, so it not always easy to find one for them.

Its ridiculous this, something has to be done in football.

Smaller clubs can't spend under PSR and they can't develop academy talents because the big clubs sign them for peanuts.

This is true. PSR rules do need tweaking to protect smaller clubs.

Any word on how tickets work for the National League Cup? Assume theres a pay on the day option, gonna try and get to the Boston one if I'm free when it comes up, easy new ground to tick off

Quite simply they show total disdain towards their own fans. And they would rather be opaque than transparent with everything they do.

King Power out.

Our Under-18s took a share of the spoils from Saturday's U18 Premier League clash with Middlesbrough, which finished 2-2.

In competitive action for the first time in 26/27, the young Foxes headed up to Rockliffe Park for a meeting with the Teesside club which saw City take the lead 13 minutes in, through James Quinn.

A Lucca Kakai penalty levelled up the scores on the half-hour mark, but Leicester regained an advantage shortly after half-time courtesy of substitute Luqman Aideed's goal, making an immediate impact for the visiting Foxes.

Finlay Turner equalised once again for Boro with just under 10 minutes to play, rescuing a point for the hosts in an entertaining season opener.

Next up in the league for City's youngsters is a first home fixture against another North East opponent, Newcastle United, set to face the Magpies at LCFC Training Ground on Saturday 5 September (1pm BST kick-off).

The details

City: Lawrence, Jacklin, Simons (c), Dignum, Nbatumbu, Manyumba, Turrell, Szembell, Quinn (Owusu 59'), Holmes (Aideed 45'), Fletcher.

Subs not used: Shaw, Govan, Machaka.

Goals: Quinn 13', Aideed 48'.

He hasn’t accepted his Scholarship as guess he wants a pro deal to go with it

Not been in the U18 or U21s last week which is surprising. Has he left?

Golding has the potential to be in and around the first team if he could get his head right.

The fact he hardly played in pre-season would say he miles off it.

Found this interview very interesting from Jake Evans.

When talking about Leicester at the very end of the interview he says;

”I’ve got a point to prove… I don’t wanna say exactly what, but I’ve got a point to prove”

Whats that about? Russell Martin not thinking he’s ready?

That's not a bad thing we want player with a fire in their belly.

Hopefully he smashes it and we recall him at Christmas.

I remember when Barnes came back to Leicester after his loan at MK and then just didn't seem to have the same swagger and was subsequently not given much pre-season game time by Shakespeare and straight back out on loan to Barnsley where he again showed that confidence to return and be somewhat on the periphery of the group.

I feel like that's happening with Evans, even though he's evidently a rare talent to be ready for 1st team football at any level aged just 16/17. I think he can feel hard done by that he's not been kept as part of the 1st team this season but I also think he'll get plenty of positives from a full season of football so let's hope it still works out for him here.

He probably wouldn't even get on the bench at LCFC

I agree, but some players are better off playing games and I think Barnes and Evans are alike in that regard. I think Evans is better off starting every week for Cheltenham than coming off the bench every now and then for us. I would personally rather Evans play every week with us having Burns and Howell for the right hand side.

Wouldn't surprise me if Evans comes back in January though if he's scoring goals regularly though. Especially if Burns and Howell can't settle.

I don't doubt he could contribute to the first team, but I'd rather him go on loan and get 30 appearances and double figures in goal contributions rather than pinch minutes here and there here.

Can't be many players on their second loan before their 18th birthday.

Only thing I will say is if the gauge is always, would it be better for a young player to go and play every game at another club or be a back up / rotation for our 1st team then we'll limit the amount of young players we own in our squad at any team. Not saying thats right or wrong but I challenge our club to be braver in bringing through academy players and there's many examples of academy players forcing their way in to 1st teams mid season, which doesn't happen if on loan (unless recalled 😂)

I just hoping his does a Barnes.

Martin under massive pressure this is his last chance at club of a decent size, I can understand why he going to want some experience.

I think its easy for us all to be an arm chair manager and say play all the youth when you aren’t getting sacked.

Same as suggesting players to buy, you never have to buy anyone so we can't be wrong.
