Met the granddad of one of the Truro players. Quite nice down here might be worth the odd trip out.

I watched the game against Bournemouth u21s the other day and they looked so uncomfortable trying to play out from the back

Everyone sitting round me couldn’t understand why they were doing it consistently.

 

At one point, Truro had 4 players parked on the 18 yard line when we had a goalkick and the second the goalkick was taken, they pressed into the area and ended up winning a throw by the corner flag.

I think at one point we had four players back trying to play it around and they had about 7 pressing them.... And every time they ended up playing a longer rushed pass forward Truro won it.

It feels like over the last few years the u21s don’t actually win that many game but we’ve done okay bringing them through

When we had Page, Braybrooke, Joseph, Monga, Aluko and Evans playing together in the u21s in 24/25 we went on a good unbeaten run (10 games I think?).

 

Then Page got dropped back to the u18s to accommodate Golding and Monga, Evans and Aluko started making the first team match day squad and we started losing again.

 

I think it's been quite rare for all our best talents to play together at the same time for the U21s.

Exactly, development has been good. Braybrooke, page and Alves have played together at u21s and been battered! It’s how it works

Under 21 teams regularly lose in these kind of cups, even the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd etc.

I was supposed to be in the stand opposite but couldn't be arsed to walk around. There's small stands at the ends,c the one you can see on one touchline, and where I'm standing no stand, just stood the other side of a metal railing.

Truro were in the conference last year and got relegated. The guy I was talking to said they were quite unlucky it was all last few minutes turnaroundsetc. 

I think somebody is putting some money in, it was quite an enjoyable little place to go. Park and ride car park next door is free parking so easy access too.

Yeah there’s some american dude putting money in.

 

They’re looking to get academy pathways in place so Cornish players (male and female) dont get hoovered up into the Argyle system.

 

Looks really good.  The new ladies team have been put into tier 8 but they’ve got a tier 5 side and tier 4 management.

 

As a club they’re definitely moving in the right direction.
