SafewayFox Posted 27 August Posted 27 August Genuine question, if we do actually move on Souttar, Faes, Stephy and Hamza. Who would be left on a PL contract? Skipp? Thomas? (Who surely signed his extension on more modest wages).

Popular Post Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 27 August Popular Post Posted 27 August I wanted to keep him initially, but to me it looks like he’s pulling a mini Faes. Get rid. I was impressed with Aluko at centre back as well against Ipswich, and if he plays there hopefully the new Finish lad can offer the physicality that Souttar had. 7

Donwebbio Posted 27 August Posted 27 August Even we do manage to get rid of our PL signed contracts (which Skipp & Bob will ensure doesn't happen) we will still be left with paying Championship wages with League 1 income. With the sky high running costs as well, we simply have to promote.

I can't see Okoli being on massive wages, especially after two 40% cuts. Came from Italy, young ish and not overly proven, surely even we don't pay someone like that huge money. 1

I replied to someone asked about the players who are on prem wages, so mentioned they have all had two wage cuts/drops 2
jbflcfc Posted 27 August Posted 27 August Call it 7.5 & move on nice of him to down tools when he’s spent the majority of his time here on the treatment table. 1

My belief is that there was only ever a clause on the premiership relegation, and not a clause for further relegation as they though this was not possible. The above is all allegedly though
Claudio Fannieri Posted 27 August Posted 27 August Another one that needs to be done and dusted today so we can focus on shifting the others out and bringing in the 3/4 player we need. Clock is ticking 1

I understand what you’re saying (I’m far from defending the club) but no other League 1 club also sells players for 20, 16 and 10m like we have this summer. I hate everything about our club but finally the wage structure should be more aligned to a bottom half Championship club which is what our current reality is for the foreseeable, that’s us some how getting out of this muck league.
James_lcfc Posted 27 August Posted 27 August A fully committed Souttar is still probably only top half Championship standard. A half committed one would struggle in the National League, hence why he's looked like a pub player in the first two league games. He's just got to go, even if we have to soften on the price a bit.

Not really sure we can hold out for £10m when Ahmedhodzic went to Burnley for £6m for example.

Hes a good defender for that level though.
CL Fox Posted 27 August Posted 27 August If they've signing him for the documentary, they'd best hope no one looks at his twitter account. That'll be fairly divisive and not the wholesome vibe Wrexham are going for.
FosseSpark Posted 27 August Posted 27 August Just get him gone for £4-5m +. He's playing like a c*nt and has been responsible for us starting games under pressure so far this season.

Him playing for Aus at the world cup has properly skewed people's perception of him. For them he plays for a team of cloggers and their group games were against slightly better cloggers that had the ball for most of the time but had to resort to chucking it in the box for most of the game. So Souttar got to just stand around, head it, kick it, make blocks. Perfect for him to look good. The odd occasion people got in behind him (like a lot of people would do in normal games) he moved like a glacier. 3
JonnyBoy Posted 27 August Posted 27 August was good last game of the season (putting himself in the shop window) and a good WC, been absolute garbage for us so far this season - get rid asap
