Genuinely though, how would people react to us being rebranded 'RB Leicester City'?

I don't think we'll be called 'Red Bull Leicester City' as it's too much of a mouth full.

And I don't think anyone would accept the dropping of 'Leicester City'

Personally wouldn't care, completely get why many would be upset by it though.

Got to be joking?

Sadly not.

I admit I would feel uncomfortable with it but soon get over it.

If you think about it Top and the players have shit all over Leicester City for years.

A name change means nothing to me and I assume it would mainly be about nostalgia/ identity to others???

Well yes, considering these are the cornerstones for the entire premise of supporting a football club.

Not really sure I can take anyone seriously as a person who has typed what you just have.

Surely you are on a wind up?

There is nothing worse than us being rebranded to Red Bull Leicester. Nothing. I’d be more open to a merge with Coventry. If we’re going in that direction, let’s pack it all up and start again at Vicky Park.

As I said, give me them over an American consortium keen to double the cost of everything, 10-fold the debt whilst paying themselves massive dividends, we might as well be bought out by Thames Water.

Who cares about the debt if we aren’t Leicester City?

Do you care about the debt of Red Bull? Do you care about the debt of Sheffield Wednesday?

We are barely Leicester City now and we are in massive debt.
Which club are you referring to? Red Bull Leipzig have less debt than we do, and run a far better business than KP does. I don't think there are many modern football clubs that run at a profit or run really sustainably, and if we can find an owner that would run us like say Brighton then we should go for it, worth noting that Red Bull operate their network in a similar way, buy low, sell high.

As I said, I completely get why the majority of fans would be completely against a name or badge change, and that's why I don't think it should happen, whereas I'm not tribal about it.
I support Leicester and they are the only club I support, or ever will support, but I've never really been tribal about anything. I'm an F1 fan, so I guess I'm used to constant name and brand changes.

I completely get peoples anger at that sort of thing, just look at Salzburg who had a portion of fans create a brand new club because RB dropped the purple kit in favour of white. In the end, RB Salzburg play better football, have more money, are more successful, buy and progress players that go on to be world class talent, something they would not be doing if they had not been bought.

If we can find a Brighton/Coventry style owner I'd probably choose that, but 99% of owners are not like that.

It's not right, it's not wrong....just MY opinion:surrender:

We are absolutely perfectly set up to be RB Leicester, really depressing but there's not a fanbase in the country they'd get less resistance from. Withstanding that would being called RB Leicester City be any worse than being owned by the current King Power?

Imaging chanting this name out when he takes over.

Our fans can barely pronounce Aluko, let’s not get carried away.

Think the only problem would be trying to get us to play in white & red, depressingly.

We would literally be Southampton then. Beat them 9-0 and then 9-1 on aggregate, sign about 5 of their players who played in them games, take their DOF and ex manager and then adopt their strip. Wed may as well call the stadium the Red Bull Dell.

The only clasping at straws counter to that is that their motorsports liveries are mainly blue

Obviously not a City fan. Needs to be ignored.

Just reqd the footy insider article and despite the source there will be elements of truth. That's said if we are that close to administration, we have been signing players for transfer fees. Surely that wouldn't be happening? Though they are pretty stupid.

****ing hell. People inviting Red Bull coming in and wiping out our entire history to turn us into a marketing tool for an energy drink is a new low.

Any port in a storm and this is one hell of a Hurricane

Would love Red Bull to buy the club. But not at the cost of 'rebranding' our identity.
