What about the other striker you alluded to? Anything further on that?

Nothing other than still chasing mate but who or where from is still unknown to me

Not sure if you're aware, but for a transfer like this from one of the "lesser" nations where the process isn't quite as automatic, it's actually moving quite quickly.

Before applying for the International Sportsperson Visa we'll have had to request a Governing Body Endorsement from the FA. This is where they must have either accumulated enough points or go through one of 3 different appeals processes. There's a standard 15 point threshold which is calculated bases on the players domestic minutes, continental minutes and position of the club they're playing for. If they don't hit this and are between 10-14 points then they appeal to the exceptions panel where they have to argue the reasoning behind the player not hitting 15 points. If the player scores under 10 points then it'll be the Elite Significant Contribution route of which we as a League One squad have 2 slots compared to the 4 you get in the Championship and PL. This all adds time on too.

Once the GBE has been granted, the club then assigns a valid Certificate of Sponsorship for the VISA application. The VISA application is then submitted to the Home Office and this typically takes 3 weeks to approve. We'll have gone through fast tracking (which we'll have paid extra for) which then shortens the approval process down to 5 working days. It's not Football Manager and a case of just clicking and him being here, as you well know.

Thanks and very interesting.

Agreed the fee over a week ago, that's quite a long time. Transfer deadline day when you agree a fee for said player, they aren't still waiting to be announced a week later.

They're still haggling over the "undisclosed" fee. These things take time.

Great post, emphasises how little we all know what goes on in background of transfers and how complicated the issues can become with Non EU players. While many years ago, Krameric was equally as frustrating and I can remember Pearson needing to go to some kind of hearing so the player could obtain the authorisation. That dragged too so it’s worth remembering our last experiences before gettting arsey about the time it takes. Unless it’s too difficult to obtain id be shocked he wasn’t rocking up to Seagrave  soon.

All this for a unknown league 1 level striker. Lol

Will love this if it's a diamond in the rough type find. We need some luck up front for once.

No really.

The issue is stories break so early these day before the most the paper work is done.

It broke 6 days ago, his had to get his visa done and other stuff.

Think people need to relax rather then keep looking for negatives.

We are a busy football club as the moment on the ins and out front.

I think its more of a case that verbally the deal is done, but his agent is working overtime to get a better deal elsewhere. "We have a deal with leicester everyone be quick if you want him he's not put pen to paper yet"

Its rife in football, and to be honest if this is whats happening we should bin him off.

Another one that will piss about with until deadline day and then end up with no striker until January. BDCR will be our new no 9 😂😂😂

I worked in football NL level, happened all the time with non league players and ex pro's ...its the nature of the game,  some players are happy with the deal, some verbally take a deal as a fall back option.  Then drag it out hoping for others to come in last minute.  It could be this, i never worked with anyone that needed international clearance or visa's. Bit normally they say deal done subject too.

Either the club, are not forthcoming with info like visas and he has signed, this can be done by scan/fax hell even whats app if both sides have their legal representation.

Or someone is dragging there heals, again could be both sides, we may have other options, and using him as fallback option?

Either way if he was signing he could of done that already with terms for example he must pass the medical, for it to be binding..

To be honest something feels a little off with this one. And we are taking the word of who? That terms have been agreed 6 days ago.

I think people need to be patient and making up different scenarios that they know nothing about. Enjoy your sunday.
