If it was a tin of paint it would be trade magnolia.....loads of passing but didnt feel any real excitement for a through ball or a break away....just very meh. Glad we didnt concede but as others have said really need a striker/forward who attacks and excites.

Sounds like the young lads did well, Watson already pushing Mavididi out the side. A striker is key, a decent striker and we are probably are 2-0 up and the fight goes out of Northampton.

 

Probably two strikers in an ideal world.

Possibly, But apart from a few lapses from Souttar he was ok, Okoli similar strong in the challange and imporving on the Ball. He'll get better as the season unfolds.

 

Yes, As CBs they'er always likely to make a mistake unlike upfield players.

 

That's the way RM want them to play and it's looking better already than last season.

Not arguing with you at all, to be honest. Looked uncomfortable on the ball and made a couple of potentially very serious mistakes. Perhaps slightly less terrifying when the ball goes anywhere near him than Okoli, and more dominant aerially at times, but I wasn't impressed with either CB.

Maddison and Tielemans scored better goals than he did then, they are not strikers.

Okoli is a solid defender, but he'll never be a ball playing CB, whilst Souttar was very sloppy on the ball and was playing with an arrogance of someone who thinks he's too good for this level.

We could have 11 players all play shit but the vast majority on here will always find a way to pin it on Luke Thomas and okoli.

I didn't watch the game as I had better things to do with my Saturday afternoon but assume a lack of striker is proving to be the issue. Big surprise. 

 

We need at least 2 before the end of the window.

Every game is going to be against men behind the ball so we need some physicality in the box.

 

Not going to panic after one game but its hardly the exciting start we'd hoped
