Maybe the early misguided optimism has drained away and people don't want to waste money spending a day watching this dross?

Possibly.

Much prefer Barnsley as an away day to MK Dons. Don't know anyone who wouldn't. I went to MK but definitely won't be spending the day at Barnsley no matter how much my son begs.

Sick of the sight of Martin and his Merrymen.

Im no fan of martin, the football that is being served up or our current position and ownership so i wouldnt argue with your stance.  People can do what they want to do and all that.

For me, i just like going to the footy, always have, good or shit its an escape from everyday life and its mine and my daughters "thing" that we do together.  I still love to see us win away, like meeting mates beforehand, seeing new grounds.....and old ones.  There may well come a time when i think "no more" but although im being tested these last few years, m not quite there yet.

But your point, yes Barnsley is far better.  Real gritty town, bit of a throwback to the old days when you did run the gauntlet at some of these northern grounds

Am I missing something about supporters travel? Leaves at 7:40am, ETA at the ground 11am, for what appears to be a 90 minute journey. How the hell is this supposed to take over 3 hours!?

Probably stop for an hour on the way. Just booked Fox Travel, usually a 45min stop en route. 11am for 12:30 kickoff not too bad I guess. MK they didn’t stop at all on the way.

Yesterday Fox Travel left the KP at 9:15 and Fosse Travel (Ausden Clark) just before 9:45. When Fosse arrived, having made good time, Fox were still at Knutsford Services. 🙄

Any discussion on football aside, Stockport was a good away day yesterday. There was a good mix of pubs and tap bars, the old part of town was surprisingly pleasant and the locals were genuinely friendly.

Although we go to follow City, seeing and experiencing something different is also why I love away days.

Gutted to miss it. Looked better than the last time we’re up there in the cup 🥱

Good shout, just seen there's a food court in there with a couple of 'Caf' type places for breakfast too.

Have great memories of this ground. Really sentimental one for me. The 2007 one where Leeds got relegated. Following year was even more tense and we won 0-1 again. But we did end up going down.

Kind of glad I can't taint it by going on Saturday lol albeit I do remember the loss there in 2013 - that was one of the worst performances I've ever witnessed from us.

Those 3 matches the only 3 times I've been to Oakwell!

2007 was great, whole ground celebrating Leeds' demise.

was that the one with Fryatts goal trickled over the line? tried searching for highlights but YouTube has nothing. Also vaguely remember singing Alan Balls name as he had died that morning/day before?

Yeah, as I recall, didn't Fryatt lob the keeper and their defender touched it in?

There was the win there under Holloway too, I think Hume scored, but we obviously ended up going down.

Ticket to this still hasn’t arrived.

I’ve emailed the club and will call tomorrow if i don’t get a response by 4pm today.

Anyone know the normal procedure when this happens? Can I pick it up from their ticket office before the game?

Usually yes. Same for me but only booked last week. Had to collect previously at Old Trafford & London Stadium

What's best way to get there?

Tickets came through at weekend for myself and the lad. Was originally meant to be driving there (had booked Morrisons car park to walk to game), but my car is now playing up and needs work done, which I've gotta wait until next week to have done! Didn't really wanna pay £70 odd for train, and the coaches are all sold out that I can see...

Any ideas? Or am I gonna either have to go for train, or give up the game?
