Take your pick Wout

Think you’ve missed the most appropriate league deadline for him.

Book value rules don't apply in League One.

No, but the loss of a transfer, as well as the wages affects the turnover for the SCMP value %

Don't want him anywhere near the team becuase he's an absloute twat more than anything else, but you'd have to fear for his career if he wasn't very competent at League One level, assuming he has any ambition of rebuilding his career, which tbh given his recent exploits is now seriously in question.

I've thought this of many of them and they've disappointed. There seems to be an endless floor.

This is his last season we are paying his wages and through the P&L his remaining book value will be depreciated.

Assuming he doesn’t go, if we really aren’t going to play him, we may as well pay him off.

Accounting wise the only difference is if we agree a settlement which isn’t his full wages

Surely if he doesn’t go we just cancel his contract

if it’s not by mutual consent, and there is no deal agreed, we would have to pay up the remainder of the contract. All of it.

I read a story of a chap who applied for a managerial position based solely on off of his extensive knowledge of playing football manager. I promise you it wasn’t me

If he stays we need to use him.

The bar is whether he’s better than Souttar. I’d even consider whether he’s better than Luke Thomas at LB.

If he can’t meet that low bar then surely his next step should be to retire from professional football.

The bar is whether he is a positive, neutral or negative influence on the dressing room.  Then whether he is better than Souttar.

I suppose there is that.

Shame we can’t just terminate him if that is the case

After a poor start to the season, West Ham have a 100% record and some big wins since deciding not to pursue Faes.

You could argue their upturn in form is a direct result of not signing Faes

I still think he could do a decent job in a defensive midfield role alongside Lundstram or Braybrooke. Even as a standin while resting either of the two.

He's been rubbish to shit in his own position. I'm not sure putting him into one he hasn't played in is the solution.

Despite the associated costs and a desire to get something from him this needs to be a thank you and goodbye. No point keeping a turd around in the pan because you spent a long time passing it.
