It’s 1000000% a perm

Please not a 3 year deal for an average aging striker who won't score many goals?

Some fans really need to think about the context of his goalscoring record.

20/21 - Shit, but was his first season in English football

21/22 - 16 goals

22/23 - 5 goals, but missed 22 games

23/24 - 6 goals, but missed 25 games

24/25 - 12 goals

25/26 - 9 goals

The 22/23 and 23/24 seasons are all if, buts and maybes, but let’s be honest, he probably would have managed double figures in those two seasons.

Yes, it’s not spectacular, but it’s not poor, shit, abysmal like some folk on here are saying.

What are some fans seriously expecting? Bim Pepple? Harry Leonard? Both would probably be too expensive and Plymouth and Peterborough probably wouldn’t sell to us this late in the window anyway.

So of realistic Championship strikers, who is better than Emil Riis? Keillor-Dunn is about the only one who can be classed as a good alternative. Otherwise it’s gambling on someone like Kolli at QPR, or turning to a 30+ year old or bloody Michael Obafemi.

Every signing is a risk as we know all, I would say whilst hes not hugely prolific, he does score goals at least. Certainly more than players like BDR and Ayew.

Over the last 5 years hes averaging a goal every 242 minutes of time played vs BDR at 396 and Ayew was at 568...

If he settles well he should be in the high teens in league one...in theory....

High teens? He's never done that once in this career.

The thing I like about him is his goals per game ratio and it's been consistent over 5 seasons in the championship so I think he will be a very good League 1 striker should get close to 20 goals.

Aging? He's 28 so only 31 at end of contract. Not a problem if he's a free or minimal.

Fans never see what players can be coached into either if they have the right attributes, Everything’s just straight one dimensional and linear with peeps

He scored 16,12 and 9 in the championship in his three full seasons of starting, I don’t think it’s a massive leap to suggest he may better those numbers in a worse division. Go back over the last 5 years and check out how league one’s top scorers have done in the championship, I’d be willing to be his numbers more than stack up. Long as it isn’t a 4/5 year deal on extortionate wages it’s alright for now, will need depth like him if we go up so we don’t end up with no strikers like last year if someone gets hurt

Ian Wright joined arsenal at the age of 28 and went on to be all time leading scorer

If the player is good enough age isnt really a issue ..

For our level and for someone to support Bristic I really think we could have done a lot worse.

Like Danny Ings

I really don’t know what some fans expect nowadays, for a League 1 club, Emil Riis on paper is one of the better realistic strikers we could possibly get.

We’ve took an unknown gamble on Bristric, and with how we’ve started the season, is another gamble on a young striker the right play, hoping that they bang?

There’s been much talk on here stating that we need a striker who has shown he can score in England, and when you strip things back and look at realistic options available, you have to say Emil Riis is one of the more stronger options.
