What is our rock bottom and when do we hit it?

I find it interesting that since 1992 the year the EPL started we have had 18 years in it more than any other  Midlands club and the only Midlands club to win it.

Now we determined to  be the worst club in the Midlands and achieving it.

Another 4-0 defeat sat 

and were in the bottom 4 and were just as low as we can

Dunno about anyone else, but on a couple of occasions recently, I've found myself scanning through the Championship scores/results on the BBC website and been puzzled as to why City's match was missing from the list! Perhaps it's a sign of old age or a subconcious inability to accept that the club is now just a random third-rate outfit.

A couple of big ones against non-elite sides in the top flight come to mind (5-0 to Bolton under the spud peeler and same score to Villa in the Adams season). 
 

Biggest home defeat in our only other third tier season was 2-0. I looked it up yesterday and there was a couple of big ones in the 1920’s in the second tier but this was a time where bigger scorelines were frequent.

Without doubt. We have seen City battered but never in the third tier. This is only our second ever season at this level ffs. Last time we lost one home game; we've already lost two home games this season. We were never battered at this level last time, if I recall we only conceded 3 once (the embarrassment of Brighton).

5 years ago I used to be so proud of our club, what we had achieved where we were and the inspiration we gave every club and fan in the world that one day it could be them. The owners/board/players/fans all united if somebody said back then, in 5 years you're going to be struggling in league 1 with the possibility of league 2 football. would you of believed them or laughed at them?
Last time we were in league 1 if somebody said to you, you're going to win the premier league soon, you'd of laughed at them

I look at the BBC site for scores and fixtures and L1 comes behind the WSL on the list!

I've been thinking about this again, beyond 'rock bottom' meaning the continual dropping to our lowest ever ever positions in the pyramid or even going out of existence.

 

People have sneered at mottos like Foxes Never Quit, Keep the Faith and even the 2015-2016 club-created one, Fearless.

 

But growing up in the late 80s and 90s, this club did embody these traits. They were real. At Filbert Street it felt like the fans willed the ball into the net.

 

We failed in the playoffs two seasons running before finally winning one.

 

We got relegated again but bounced back in the last minute of the next playoff.

 

We won the League Cup in extra time in a replay after equalising in extra time in the original fixture.

 

We got promoted after going into administration and having players that offered their services for free.

 

Even when we circled the Championship drain the last time, it took several seasons of mismanagement and fighting against the tide before we actually dropped, instead of plummeting straight through.

 

And then we bounced back again at the first attempt, with players that fought and helped us make the Championship playoffs in the season after promotion.

 

We responded to Deeney day winning the league with 102 points.

 

We had the Greatest Escape followed by the greatest Premier League title ever, probably the greatest story in team sports or sport in general, followed again by a fight against relegation and overcoming Sevilla in the Champions League against the odds.

 

That's hundreds of players, multiple managers over 35 or so years. Foxes Never Quit might be a bit cringe worthy but it was a very real part of this club.

 

I don't see it anymore. And that could easily be rock bottom.

Wouldn't  say I'm a doom merchant, more of a realist. After  yet another  potential  manager  cock up I've  no faith that Top ,Rudkin  the board etc will turn this disaster  around and time is crucial. A sale takes a while to happen and I'm  not sure we've  got that time .Fingers crossed we have.

Rock bottom would be national league but I fear that bankruptcy will come first.
