If we sacked Martin now and sucked up the financial loss, whilst appointing a competent manager, we'd walk this league with the squad we have. 

 

Its like we take one step forward (getting rid of the over paid wasters and signing on paper some decent players) but take 3 steps back because for 4th time in a row, weve hired a hideous manager.

We saw all too vividly today how well that venue has prepared them, both mentally and physically, for the stresses and strains of professional football.

 

Worse still, the toxicity of the "world-leading training ground" has already afflicted those whom we've taken on loan from Premier clubs to, supposedly, raise the standard.

 

There is zero chance whatsoever of improvement while Rudkin and his latest puppet are in charge at the club.

It does.

 

Judging by Harborough's status as a National League North club, it's reasonable to assume that we (or more likely, a "sevco" club bearing our name) would be in the same division.

I remember once at uni, picking the already smoked fag ends out of my ashtray and taking them to make another rolly. Absolutely awful. I’d been quite the bright spark of the family growing up but uni had been a slog. In hindsight I think I’d had a full mental breakdown. My failure had been of my own doing, just not going to lectures, not doing any homework, just drinking too much and watching daytime tv, classic student stuff. My failure though, had hit hard. I was the first in my family to go to uni so dropping out was a big deal. The first and only time I’d ever seen my grandad cry was when I got accepted. My failure had let him down, it had let everyone down. 
 

I sat there smoking this awful second hand cigarette just crying. Just smoking and crying and apologising in my head to my grandad. I hadn’t even dressed. Just a crying, naked 21 year old smoking last weeks fags whilst Can’t Cook Won’t Cook played in the background. Someone knocked on my door, I didn’t answer. I’m ashamed to admit this but I count you all as friends so here goes… I soiled myself. I was sat on my chair, smoking and crying and I just soiled myself. Full number one and two. Never in my life, before or since, have I experienced such utter desolation. I finished my fag and rolled another from the ends in the ashtray. I was covered in tears and ash and pot noodle and sh1t. I think I sat there until the next day. Staring at a framed photo of my grandad, crying and apologising. He was a big man. A tough man. If he could see me now, I thought, he’d disown me. I cried again. Proper ugly crying. I think I snotted on my own excrement.
 

I don’t know quite how long I was there, probably a couple of days. I don’t remember much of the details of what happened next but I just know that I woke up at home with my mum and dad waiting on me and I never went back to uni. We have never spoken about it again. The shame I feel and the pity, disgust and disdain they must still feel sits in the air, unspoken. I’d like to say my rock bottom was a turning point but in reality it’s been pretty sh1t ever since. Foxestalk is my only real link to the outside world and I’m so glad for you all and I thank you so much for letting me talk about this. I’ve never told anyone before. Thanks for starting the thread OP.

I disagree. We have an unbalanced squad that’s largely come together in the last week of the window. A lot of the teams in this league have been together and had solid pre seasons - are organised and well drilled. We’re a team of strangers, journey men and young lads trying to play such an arrogant style of football.

 

Whoever the manager, relegation is more likely than promotion imo.

With the Martin style of play, i agree that relegation is more likely. But with a competent manager, we have a squad that is way better than this league. The standard is utterly appalling and teams have and will beat us, not because they are better than us, but because they are more organised and play a more simple style of football than we do.

I really don’t think we have, they’re just better known because of the status of the club. 
 

Ultimately it’s 11v11 every week and while we have the attitude that we’re too good to go down, go down is exactly what we’ll do. This has proven to be the case in 2023 and 2026. Administration and a points deduction won’t just make relegation a possibility, it would make us favourites to be the first team to be relegated in 3 successive seasons.

For me the big fear is becoming the next Coventry but not in a good way, the years in the wilderness, playing in a different city, the training ground gone etc.

I honestly think we can keep falling. 
 

It’s early days, the signs are really, really worrying though. 
 

We have players that are well known. I’m not convinced they are better than what is already in the division.

 

We seem to hit a new low, every single week.
 

We are going to need 50 points to stay up. Currently with our tally we going to end up less than that. We really could be in for another dog fight.

The overriding obstacle to recovery from any condition is denial, the total inability of nepo baby to recognise that the problem is 100% himself means that the decline will continue virtually unchecked. 

 

It seems to me that him and his personal grima wormtongue make the wrong choice every time, and that can only lead to more failure.

 

Personally I really think we are league 2 bound unless a buyer is found and Martin is sacked, and even then it's touch and go.

Not finding a buyer  ,entering  administration and with a points deduction relegation  to league 2.Only  then will we probably  find a buyer ,but not guaranteed.
