MC Prussian Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I'd allow to substitute more than three players in the extreme case that you have three injured ones in the same game. Would only be fair enough.
Benji Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 i'm with the offside one, if your offside your offside, screw this 'active or not active' cr@p
Magictv Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 or red card for diving in box or trying to get a player sent off by diving and using video evidence to dish out some meaty bans.
Mark Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Allow teams to name 7 substitutes instead of the current 5, at least for Premiership teams. I think this allowed all over Europe in the top divisions. This could benefit the younger English players in the Premiership, especially at Chelsea seeing as they are signing them all up from the lower leagues
Magictv Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Allow teams to name 7 substitutes instead of the current 5, at least for Premiership teams. I think this allowed all over Europe in the top divisions. why?
BartonFox Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 As mentioned earlier - Yellow card for those players who call for another player to be booked. The lowest of the low. When a player tells an official to "**** off" he is dismissed from the field of play. Don't give two bob if it is 'a mans game' there is no ****ing need to swear like a ****ing clown all the p*ssing time. W*nkers the lot of them get them b*stards to **** when they swear at the ref.
l444ry Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 True, but let's imagine a corner situation: If the player taking the corner is inside the playing field and the team scores, it should be ruled offside right? I do agree that more dubious have been scored with the current rules, but a hybrid of the old and the new ones would please me most to be honest, and if forced, I'd choose the old one over the new one as well. I thought you preferred the old rule as well. However, if the ball is played backwards the receiving player cannot be offside. Therefore you would be hard pressed to be caught offside from that situation.
Chimp Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Yellow/Red cards, leave as it is. Number of subs, leave as it is. Shielding the ball should be interpreted as obstruction if the shielding player does not touch the ball within 3 seconds of starting to shield it. Change the offside rule back to how it was. This active/non-active and the 'phases' of play is just making a fairly simple situation overly complicated. Extra time should be caculated more accurately and if a player is warned/penalised by the ref for time wasting then additional time should be addded on. Um, okay, that's three things, not one... I think I'll stop now.
shen Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I thought you preferred the old rule as well. However, if the ball is played backwards the receiving player cannot be offside. Therefore you would be hard pressed to be caught offside from that situation. Not really, as I seem to remember that if you scored and there was a teammate ahead (seen from the touchline) of you and he was behind the last defender, the goal would be ruled offside, even if he was miles to the right and goal was scored on the left... get my drift? |,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,X. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,| |,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, / ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,| |,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, / ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, X ,,,,,,,,,| |,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, / ,,,,,,,,X,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,| -----------------------------|____.____________|--------------------------------------- Hope this diagram shows what I mean: Attackers X. (with ball) and X are behind the defence...
Benji Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 A yellow card to any player other than the captain that argues with the referee Oh how i watch Rugby with envy for the repsect players have of the referee How much time is lost on matches because players argue, end of the day even if he knows he's made a mistake, a ref will not change his mind! It would only take a couple of examples made of a few players and people would start respecting referees. Before we can start looking at referees performances they need to be given the chance to do their job. While we're at it let the ref have a mic so people watching on sky can hear what they say alla RU.
Nationwider Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Bring back the old rule that if you are in an offside position then you are offside. Period. With the standard of referees and linesmen today anything that simplifies matters has to be for the better. Abandon the transfer window shite. I'd go along with both of them. I'd like to see a clamp-down on timewasting by goalkeepers. Not necessarily a rule-change, but just more enforcement by refs.
Phube Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I'd allow to substitute more than three players in the extreme case that you have three injured ones in the same game. Would only be fair enough. I can see all teams being really truthful and not telling players to go down injured to make extra substitutions....
The People's Hero Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 More fit naked women jumping up and down at half time?
Benji Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 More fit naked women jumping up and down at half time? Think we've got a winner
The People's Hero Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 If that was brought in, I'd go to a lot more football matches. Except for the penetration special nobfest you'd get at Brighton.
Benji Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 If that was brought in, I'd go to a lot more football matches. Except for the penetration special nobfest you'd get at Brighton. LMFAO!!! if only roger could see that, hahaha edit: Roger? hahaha looks like the brighton boy has had his username censored, unlucky
Tommy Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Teams are only allowed 2 players over 6ft 3 and 14 stone, after all, it is football and not heavyweight boxing.
Bluefoxtim Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I wouldn't like to see sin bins come into the game. I think it could be, yellow card - normal 2 yellows - sub him for another 3 yellows - OFF Red (very bad) - OFF 2 yellows - sub him for another BUT how could that player then get 3 yellows if he is off the field?
Durnerz Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 The Blood on shirts rule has to be changed. I've always thought having a gaping wound on my head and blood all over my shirt as a result of it would make me look rather hard, this is a mans game supposedly after all. Offside as many have said. I agree. The yellow card rule for jumping into the crowd, taking off shirts after goals etc must go as well. I think if we get back to the genuine offside rule we'll see many more Goals.
The People's Hero Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 They should change the rules so that Alan Shearer can actually be booked from time to time.
Fishy Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 scrap penalty shoot outs........go to extra time with ten men, taking one man off every five mins, until a goal is scored........
filbertway Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 what happens after 45 mins when its goalie v goalie? They keep going
