Libertine Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Damn, I missed it on TV and radio cos I went out to eat - caught the last 5 minutes. Sounds like we performed magnificently again - superb result against a strong outfit. Leicester City are back! I flicked the radio on quickly to see who was commentating.......... He's back.
Ricey Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Good solid performance from the lads, fantastic result aswell It wasn't a spectacular gme but we did enough in all areas and looked comfortable throughout. Proud.
Head Honcho Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 *Tut* Not as amazing and awe - inspiring as me then. Still ran over the National fences just 2 miles 5 furlong instead of 4 miles 4 furlong
dynamite foxes Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 We probably deserved as the two Paddy's were awesome and Hume and Fryatt were good too. Williams is on the way up as well, he actually tackled. But, des[ite scoring Hughes was awful he never wins a 50-50 and his touch was woeful
Stuliasz Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Just arrived back and despite the result I don't think our performance was up to our recent standards. Palace must have dominated possession by a large percentage and whilst our centre backs defended extremely well, I thought across the park we were bullied by Palace's physical style and couldn't handle it. It has to be an encouraging sign though when we don't play particularly well and still win.

SystonFox Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 decent game, good win well deserved. pretty even game imo although i was biting nails at times when palace were clearly dominating. watching it on sky + now what a goal by hughes with fryatts fantastic work, and whats alan smith on banging on about hume being offside position? he wasnt interfering nor in kiralys vision it was a perfect goal. we deserved it, and our fans were fantastic again tonight which i can certainly tell now on the t.v!

securedfox Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 FOXES FOREVER Hope we keep this going till the end of the season. Then roll on next Thankyou so much Rob Kelly
Swedging Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 I thought Hughes did well, he ran around a lot and often started an attack with a run forward. Yup, I thought Hughes was great tonight - and Williams was really good too. And that's on a night when our midfield was often overrun. 3 central midfielders (no real battlers and Joey having one of his awful days) + one wide player meant too much of the time Palace just captured too many loose balls and threatened to run through us. But when we got the ball both Williams and Hughes were often imaginative and clever. Now both of them are players I wouldn't like to see leaving us. Kisnorbo, though, I thought was magnificent tonight. If Player of the Season started in the New Year, I reckon it'd be a straight fight between Hume and Kisnorbo - and I'd find it hard to decide between the two. And, from me sitting in the North Stand, the Kop sounded the best it has all season. Congrats, people!
tinoblade Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 YOU GUYS ARE GODS CHEERS FOR THE REUSLT A VERY HAPPY BLADE HAHA
Cobbo Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Yay, who'd have thought after the Plymouth game that we had a team capable of beating Palace in 5th place quite comfortably?
Ultra Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Kisnorbo, though, I thought was magnificent tonight. And, from me sitting in the North Stand, the Kop sounded the best it has all season. Congrats, people! You forget just how woeful Kisnorbo was during January - completely unrecognisable from the force he is now. But tonight, he looked a far better bet for the World Cup than Andy Johnson did! The Kop actually sounded very subdued on Sky. There seemed to be very little atmosphere at all until the second goal.
Hitesh Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Good game! I really enjoyed it today! It was a good solid performance and an excellent defensive display (apart from the odd dodgy moment). Things are looking up!! Just hope we can continue next season, although we will definitly miss Joey!
lookwhaticando Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 By the way - how did Sylla do? I was listening to five live, and the only time I heard his name mentioned was when he came on as a sub. That was it.
Cobbo Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 By the way - how did Sylla do? I was listening to five live, and the only time I heard his name mentioned was when he came on as a sub. That was it. Not bad, mainly defensively. Made one cracking clearance sliding in and won a few headers in midfield. I did shit myself when he found himself at centre half though

City_4_Life Posted 7 April 2006 Posted 7 April 2006 Sorry to interupt but, Kisnorbo what a player!, i thought he played brill tonight deserved MoM.
Finnegan Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 akk together now!: LEICESTERSHIRE LA LA LA LEICESTERHSIRE LALA LA!"
Leicester_Mad Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 great win, not the best performance at home apparently, first time we've won when ive watched live for nearly 8months....Hughes man of the match...looked pretty poor to me apart from his goal. Really impressed with Johansson and a mention to Kisnorbo and Williams tonight. First sights of Fryatt and Hume as a strike partnership - looked brilliant and Welsh looks like he would be a good enough signing for us. Could do with a right winger me thinks.... First time in over a year ive felt an atmosphere in the kop. Might not have been the loudest but a fair few were singing for 80 of the 90minutes. COME ON CITY, first time ive walked away from the walkers having enjoyed the game and the result for a long long time
SystonFox Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 YOU GUYS ARE GODS CHEERS FOR THE REUSLT A VERY HAPPY BLADE HAHA did you watch the game... what did you reckon to the game? as much as i hate to know we helped warnock out its fantastic to get those 3 pts, and another win could then see us above cov before we meet them at the ricoh! that would be amazing.
Foxes 2 da grave Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 shows how far we have come since the last game at palace. beutiful we are finally playing football consistently
Thracian Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 Best quality side we've beaten under Kelly. It was also the most encouraging. a) We played one wide man increasing our attacking potential while not meaning we were swamped in midfield). b) This gave the likes of Williams more passing options. c) Kelly's substitution, when we were winning, was wide man for wide man (even though Sylla made no recognisable contribution) and therefore a signal that we would not change tactics. d) We were pegged back at times but didn't voluntarily try simply to sit on our lead. e) Our concentration and covering support for one another was outstanding. This was the fourth top seven team we've beaten this season and we've drawn against the other three. It was the first time we've picked our strongest available home team this season and we benefitted. * I have found it difficult to decide which of our keepers is the best but tonight Henderson definitely gained the edge - for his decisiveness. I remember Douglas's hesitation at Sheffield United first game of the season in conceding the penalty and other such incidents which did or could have proved costly. Henderson had three particular decisions to make tonight in terms of attacking the ball or holding his ground and each time he made his mind up quickly and brave;y, twice foiling Johnson and once Clinton Morrison. Both keepers can be good shot stoppers but Henderson looks the more positive and he made a mjaor contribution to our victory over Palace.
