Mark Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 Looks promising... if you can get past the dodgy facial hair. I still laugh out loud at Alan Partridge. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/programmes/?id=saxondale Starts tonight 10pm on BBC2.
Libertine Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 Looks good. I shall be watching this. I've been watching Partridge repeats on UKG2 recently. Utter genius.
Head Honcho Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 The clips I've seen look naff, let's hope they've shown us the worse bits!
Jay Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 it's not a laugh out loud slapstick like Partridge more like the office I understand!! I have been a massive Coogan fans for years Paul Calf, Partridge, Cheeseman and so lets hope it's another classic and not crap like Dr Terribles.. whatever it was called looking forward to this and looking at the clips this could be hilarious as I know someone who comes over just like him and seems to start most storys with When I was on tour with the Zep... blah blah blah one of his classics is when he roadied for Guns N Roses that Slash was sat backstage with 3 ladies drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels and when he left he didn't take the bottle he went to pick it up and it was filled with Tea!!!
The People's Hero Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN Ahh.. he's not seen me, I'll get him later. DAN DAAAAAN.

The People's Hero Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 From memory he makes a comment about some goalkeeper having football pie all over his shirt!
Jay Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 The proof is in the pudding and in this case the pudding is a football BOOOOOOOOOOF Eat my goal.. The goalie has got football pie all over his shirt

Matt Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 He was being interviewed on Jo Whileys show today he was saying he hasn't quite finished with Alan Partridge yet, he's not sure what he wants to do but has thought about one off's or a film which would be good but we need a new series! As soon as I saw the advert for the new program it looked good, did remend me of Alan Partridge abit.
Daggers Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 If you see a lovely field with a family having a picnic, and there's a nice pond in it, you fill in the pond with concrete, you plough the family into the field, you blow up the tree, and use the leaves to make a dress for your wife who's also your brother.
The People's Hero Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 LMAO - The bit where he goes AND ANOTHER, quality That part is amazing
Libertine Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 I thought it was a bit shit at first, but it got better towards the end. I'll keep a close eye on it.
Ricey Posted 19 June 2006 Posted 19 June 2006 I thought it was quite good. It's not the kind of programme that throws up jokes and punch-lines every minute but it was entertaining and very funny in parts especially at the end.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 June 2006 Posted 20 June 2006 LMAO - The bit where he goes AND ANOTHER, quality He must have a foot like a traction engine!! Got the DVD, the episode with the horse racing is hilarious... "...and it's Two Headed Sex Beast, leading from Onion Terror, Massive Bereavement and Trust Me, I'm A Stomach..." Classic
Daggers Posted 20 June 2006 Posted 20 June 2006 Just watched it on Teleport ~ smiles not laughs is my opinion. There are a lot of Partridge mannerisms, which detracts from believing in the character, but it seems to be solidly written. I'll be watching more - more Extra's than Office.
hairy Posted 20 June 2006 Posted 20 June 2006 It made me laugh out loud a couple of times. I'll watch it next week.
Ric Flair Posted 20 June 2006 Posted 20 June 2006 Coogan is a legend, it's not always upfront comedy with him more subtle and makes you work for the enjoyment. But that's what I love about him, I suppose it's all about taste. Some love him, some hate him. Paul Calf was awesome, just behind Partridge for my favourite Coogan characters.
