Milan Mandaric has targeted leicester!

To be honest I think all the admin talk is bollocks put around to make us think we need MM to survive. We have players to sell (who aren't on high wages this time), and I can't imagine our debts wouldn't be solved by the sale of say Kisnorbo, Hume and Stearman and some creative restructuring ala Derby (if admin couldn't be held off by that, then I'd seriously wonder what our board has been up to). Now, that could put us into a dodgy position in the league with the risk of going down to League One because we've sold our better players (although I'm not sure selling those three would really put us at that much risk), but it wouldn't put us in admin. Obviously MM is preferable to that scenario (if he follows through on his promises), but I'm not convinced we even have debts bad enough that we could be threatened with admin again yet.

You might be right, but whatever it is that happens. It wouldn't look to rosy. Add to that the fall-out from the fans should the shareholders reject it, then your really looking at a nasty situation. Spiralling attendances, selling all of our decent players. We are already close to being pulled in to a relegation battle as it is. Get relegated and it would be admin all the way. We still have to pay this stadium's interest each season.

I am sure the board are aware of these scenario's, hence them favouring the revised bid.

BLAH BLAH BLANDERSON:

Milan Mandaric is poised to complete his historic takeover of Leicester City this week.

All that remains to be done is to put the final touches to the formalities before an official announcement is made.

That will probably be on Thursday (I SAID THURSDAY B4 THE BRUM GAME AGES AGO) as there is a desire not to distract the players and manager Robert Kelly as the FA Cup third-round replay at Fulham is on the previous night.

The conclusion of the deal will be a relief to the fans, and Mandaric himself.

The end is finally in sight - two-and-a-half months after the Serbian-American millionaire announced his intention to make a £25million bid.

Mandaric watched another good City display in the 1-1 draw at Colchester on Saturday, and was clearly in a positive mood.

He said: "It (the deal) has taken longer than I expected, but it is very close now."

The news will come as a boost to the vast majority of fans who back the move, but have been wondering why it has been such a drawn-out process.

Their patience is soon going to be rewarded, it appears, as the uncertainty is drawing to a close.

Then everyone, especially Kelly and his squad, can get on with things. Recent displays suggest that the players are putting talk of the deal to the back of their minds.

Kelly says against Fulham they will need to continue to ignore off-the-field developments.

He said: "After a couple of bad defeats we have put together two good performances and that says something about the resolve of the players. It also helps us as we go into the Cup game.

"No-one expects us to win which puts the pressure firmly on Fulham because we are definitely the underdogs.

"But we were in the first match too and played really well to compete strongly with them, and we will be trying to do the same again."

Skipper Paddy McCarthy has a slight ankle injury which should not prevent him leading the side on Wednesday. Otherwise, City look in good shape - on and off the field.

Did you know the peanut is not really a nut?

Bloody people complaining about my peanut butter and their nut allergies when I was at school!

It's actually a legume... as I've been trying to tell everyone for ages.

who plays at Fox stadium in the US???

New England Patriots play American Football and New England Revolution play 'soccer' at Gillette stadium in Foxboro - near Boston - always referred to as Foxboro rather than Gillette.

It sounds like someone who's getting pissed off and realising that time is running out rapidly as far as rebuilding this season is concerned. And, perhaps as important, perhaps his target players will be getting anxious too.

Yup

This is so frustrating and really becoming rather annoying! This is probably the greatest opportunity to try and drag the club out from the pile sh*t it’s currently in but only Leicester and the morons within could balls something like this up!

Yup

They're all just a bunch of stubborn kids, kicking, shouting and screaming their lungs out! I'd offer them all a free lolly as an "appeasement measure".

Yup

If this doesn't go through, the bad feeling towards the board and trust (justifiably or not) will be unbelievable.

Yup

"Best interests of the club"?

Like ****.

He really is piling on the pressure now. Shareholders would be very brave to reject it now.

Welcome mate. I`m not usually into forums and stuff but thought I`d find a City one to see if anyone had any insider knowledge on the club, especially deals in the window. Anyway, the members havent let me down. We get inside snipets from the trust (lol), transfer news and I also had the pleasure of being slated by Louis Dodds missus by message after I compared him to Ken Dodd!!! These lot are toooooooo sharp! :D

Mandaric sets Foxes takeover date

"We are close," Mandaric told BBC Sport. "There are a couple of issues that need to be resolved hopefully in the next few days.

"Definitely by the game against Birmingham on Saturday."

[...]

"It's a frustrating time for me. It's taking so long, much longer than I thought," Mandaric added.

[...]

"If I looked at this as a business we would probably walk away but I'm keen to get back in football.

[...]

Mandaric denied weekend reports he will appoint former Crystal Palace and Charlton manager Iain Dowie when he takes over - saying he has been impressed with current boss Rob Kelly.

He added: "At this time I'm not looking for a manager or anything else. I just want to resolve the ownership of the club and then look at existing structure.

"I'm not committed to Iain Dowie or anyone else at this point.

"Unfortunately I have not been allowed many dealings with the manager (Kelly) but I did have the opportunity to meet with him two or three times.

"He is a good solid young man who is a great coach and apparently gets on well with players and probably gets the best out of them.

"I don't know much about him or his capabilities but so far I'm impressed with him."

Looks like the 'company' really is in dire straights.

Seems RK has his backing too, for now.

Glad... Iain Dowie is not a man I want here at City.

More media games. MM knew exactly what the clubs position was from day one, the delays are all entirely to be expected as any businessman would know, and this is all just to put pressure on the shareholders. MM isn't going anywhere, he will buy the club and a few more days won't make any difference.

He knew about the "hidden" further debts???!

Anyway, 180 plus pages on here so far proves how desperate we all are to get the old sod in. I`m 99.999% certain he will be in ownership by the live game on Sky.

Yes. See his SkySports interview today.

I must admit to only seeing clips of the interview. I cant work out why its taken so long for the takeover if everything was so transparent from the start?? Anyway, lets just hope that this is dealt with asap.
