Chrysalis Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Good call on Davies' part there. Aren't we after someone to invest in the club, rather than just buy it? And have you only just started supporting Leicester? Since without the current mob putting their hands in their pockets, there would have been no future for the club. Does that mean everyone should sit back and allow the club to spiral downwards?
sackmycook Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 bet the whole thing is a smokescreen cos he wants to buy Ipswich or some other championship with a bit of history. this type of thing would never happen to us i feel sad to say.
Ric Flair Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 The blokes a dick head but im afraid his track record speaks for itself RE taking clubs forward. He's done it in this country, Beligum and America. Exactly, if I remember rightly he's made a huge profit on every investment he's ever made. And if people think it's a bad thing that he'd only be coming here to make some money then have a little think about it. If he does make some money then it would be because this club has improved greatly on where it is now and quite frankly i'd settle for that. We are at ground zero at the minute in my eyes, or we're about to be, there aren't too many chances we have left to save this club. In the next month or two i'd like to see: 1) Rob Kelly resign 2) Dave Penney take over 3) Mandaric to eventually buy us out and if Penney doesn't produce what Milan wants then it's down to our chairman to bring in who he wants. All 3 to happen soon please.

Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Please Milan, don't let us down! Please let this be true!!!! Former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has refused to rule out a move to buy Leicester. (Various) Nothing new then. The rumours will pick up speed after tonight ( his last game as Pompey Chairman )

Bloomer Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 If anyone comes up with enough cash and is not a terrorist the board will sell. They may be 'football' people but they will have a price. Money is all powerful if you don't have any.
MC Prussian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Anyone got the News of the World today From another forum (so Steven should be able to vouch for it) Whether true or not do you see this as good news or bad? I must honestly admit that this shocking news made my boat rock! In a positive sense, mind you... Hmm... I'd go for it and it'd be great if he could bring the club out of its financial misery, which hasn't just stopped since we almost entered bancruptcy... There's still a massive fanbase who believes we belong to the Premiership like the egg belongs to the chicken, so Mandaric could at least tease that part of the Blue Army with some high-profile signings. We're a very desperate club at the moment, as it seems to me and the hunger for success is somewhat making way to disillusion... As long as we don't sign any more Carl Asabas, even just on trial. Mandaric for President? Why not? (And if he could get rid of that one particular Barber in one fellow swoop, hell yeah!)
Master Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 This could possibly be the best thing that could ever happen to LCFC
MC Prussian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Let's just all refuse to follow logic, instead give in to this hunger for success. Make way for Milan's World! May thy kingdom come! Hail the king! (I won't be your slave, though. Democracy 'n all, you know.)
Mort Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Apparently, we're (sort of) front page news. Dear God, Please let Mandaric buy Leicester, coz it seems like it's that or relegation as things stand at the moment. Amen. ...Mandraic buys the club some time over the next few months , Curbishley gets apionted manager round Christmas and is given a half decent (not huge though) transfer budget :w00t: while a competant board of directors starts to get the debts paid off with cash from uncle Milan  ... an impressive end of season run see us challenging for the play-offs. ... well I can dream

Mort Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Like a dream come true ...indeed , i wonder weather even if uncle Milan came in and got somone as good as Curbishley apionted round Christmas if it'd still be possible to get to the playoffs even with a handful of quality new players... on balance probably but it'd need a damn good run for it to happen... ...still I'm not going to belive a thing till I see some real evidence of a planed take-over, in the mean time lets all keep praying.
ithuriel Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 was it in the news of the world , whatever it was , im a bit dozy at present.
davieG Posted 25 September 2006 Author Posted 25 September 2006 Apparently John Barber is interviewing MM on RL tonight: Posted on the Fox forum site where he is a regular visitor. I guess he's just trying to boost his audience figures. Hi All, Just to let you know I've just done an interview with Milan. We'll be playing it tonight on the Football Forum. It will go out sometime between 6-7. It's one of those interviews that you have to read between the lines. He's still refusing to talk about Leicester directly, until after tongihts game, but I still think it's worth a listen. Cheers. He's quite cagey, but says he will talk more after tonights game. He's not going to say a massive amount until he's formally left Portsmouth, but you get the feeling that he'll certainly be trying to buy one club ... he just won't say which one !!!
Mort Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Out of interest assuming the dream comes true and Uncle Milan comes in, quickly followed by Curbishley (pretty much the best manager out there at the moment) and we have a decent transfer budget (say a couple of million) who would we stand to bring into the team, and coaching staff and how might we improve? I'd take it that the big priority would be some creative midfield players might be an idea but who? And who would we keep hold of? ...piontless speculation but it's fun all the same.
