Janx Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Is Chandler Ultra in disguise as he hasnt got the balls to come and admit he was wrong? Also Mr Bing...some of us DO have business sense, and KNOW that his motives are not football related, he sees us as a vehicle to make a profit, WHO CARES! If it gets us up the leagues with Euro Footy and better players, I for one would "sell out" because we all win... I cannot stand all this "loyal fans bleating about the soul of the club" We lost that when Football league went west and Premiership became King... Now Please do us all a favour....

Master Fox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Milan on talk Sport, just said if deal goes ahead, should go through on 10th November, and full CONTROL 15th December. lets hope and pray it goes Through Great. Play Offs is our aim!!!!
Daggers Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 All I'll say for now is that they have nothing to do with football (surprise, surprise). This is the last song he will ever sing, Let's hope he doesn't change his mind again. Goodnight, and thank you. © Mozza Morrisey-Smith
Surreal Madrid Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Buying a footbal club is pretty much the same as buying any other business. You make a valuation and then you make an offer to the owners. An outright bid for a plc is comparatively rare, bidders are normally content to purchase a majority of the shares. MM's bid of £25m seems to me to be a very full price for a 51% stake of New Fox plc. An outright bid for a plc ( football related or not ) is the norm. Even in football - see Man Utd for instance. It's Leicester City Football Club PLC, not New Fox plc. If he gets more than 30% of the shares he is duty bound to offer to buy the remaining shares. I wonder who is the financially illiterate one here.
Jon the Hat Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Sadly Chandler is one on his own..... And we should all count our blessings there is only one of him. If you want the worst view of ANY situation he is your man. Frankly the idea that Mandaric would pay 25Million to the current shareholders for the club sounds extremely unlikely to me, and the idea that he would do so for 51% is frankly insane. I think it is quite clear he is not offering to buy 51% but the entire share capital of the club, and that the rumoured 25M will include buying the stadium. We all know that the current debt will be moved to Mandaric, but that's the way the game works. No surprises there. We know his motives are financial gain, and we also know this involves the fans funding success on the pitch, whether it's through Ticket prices or Sky subscriptions. So no news there then. Really another pointless post from Chandler, telling us what we already know to try and sound clever. When you have something interesting to say go for it, but if you just want to come in and preach Doom when fans have some hope for success in the future then you really are a miserable sod. Go away.

Leonisco Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!!! I literally had a tear in my eye when I read this on the BBC website earlier I feel so good about City at the moment 8 games unbeaten, an excellent young team starting to take shape and now this! ALL ABOARD THE MILAN EXPRESS TO THE PREMIERSHIP - WE ARE GOING UP AND NO-ONE IS GOING TO STOP US!
stez Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Sorry folks but I've sat back far too long listening to the ignorant piffle that passes for comment on the Milan Mandaric takeover bid. Buying a footbal club is pretty much the same as buying any other business. You make a valuation and then you make an offer to the owners. An outright bid for a plc is comparatively rare, bidders are normally content to purchase a majority of the shares. MM's bid of £25m seems to me to be a very full price for a 51% stake of New Fox plc. This probably accounts for the confusion in the stories circulating about the bid which run something like this - £6m for the shares, £15m to clear the debt and the rest to spend on players. This kind of nonsense can only come from financially illiterate people. The shareholders who wish to sell-out to MM have only one real thought in their minds - to get the maximum price for their shares. The club's indebtedness and its need for working capital is undoubtedly an issue for MM and affects the valuation he places on the clubs shares but it will will no longer be an issue for the exisitng shareholders once they have transferred their equity. So lets get one thing straight UNLESS there is a clear (and unlikely) statement for the directors that MM's reported bid of £25m represents in part an agreement in principal between the parties that any offer must include provisions for debt clearance you can take it from me that LCFC's debt and capital requirements will be the same on the day MM takes over as they are now (a great deal higher than has been reported). As this is rather a lot for SOME of you to take in I'll leave it at that for the moment. It might just prevent one or two small minded mods who are just itching to ban me wait until I explain what Milan Mandaric's true motives are. All I'll say for now is that they have nothing to do with football (surprise, surprise). i have no doubts MM is in it to make money and get a good deal for himself, but i certainly hope he uses and abuses LCFC the same way he did for portsmouth. i guess you're jealous 'cos you're no longer on the board of directors
lookwhaticando Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I'd be very surprised if a local takeover had the financial power that Milan has. And if the club are going to the 'local' route because they are worried about Mandaric's intentions then they should re-consider. If the local takeover is by who I think it is then i'd be very worried by their intentions also. Who is it you suspect "the locals" to be? I read in another thread two words: "Leicester Tigers" but thought it was probably a fluffy rumour.
Mort Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 If the local takeover is by who I think it is then i'd be very worried by their intentions also. Keith Vaz ... he'll rename the stadium the "Merlin Vaz, Memorial Stadium", you wouldnt put it past him !

Lets Be having You Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Mandaric special in the Mercury tomorrow Milan Mandaric, who has tabled a £25 million bid to buy Leicester City, speaks exclusively to soccer writer Bill Anderson in Thursday's Leicester Mercury. The former owner of Premiership side Portsmouth reveals his vision for City, why he chose to make a bid for them rather than other clubs he has been linked with, and reveals his thoughts on manager Robert Kelly. There's also plenty of reaction and a look back at how other clubs fared under the ownership of the flamboyant business tycoon. Don't miss the Manderic six-page special in Thursday's Leicester Mercury Should Be A intersting Read
lookwhaticando Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Meh, can't believe this large piece of news is SECOND on the sports bit of Central News Disgraceful when it's number 2 on the BBC Football website.
Ricey Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Meh, can't believe this large piece of news is SECOND on the sports bit of Central News What was first?
lookwhaticando Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 What was first? If it's not a report on how an ex-Lincoln defender has set the Championship alight with his defensive prowess, I'd be sorely disappointed.
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I, as many of you maybe, am very excited about the interested shown from big investors to our club, and I really do welcome the news today about Milan Mandaric putting in an official offer today. However, I'm still not sure about what would happen. I mean, just say Milan does buy the club, then what would he do? Would buying the stadium be a priority? If so, how much would it cost? Could we start looking at players straight away or would other matters (for example the stadium) stop us from doing so?
Katy Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 What was first? Some FA thing being set up in Burton.
filbertway Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I'm Guessing milan will be wanting to invest and get us into the premier league as quickly as possible, then hopefully we could consolidate and pay the stadium off that way? However I don't know I'm jsut happy were getting a chairman with money
davieG Posted 1 November 2006 Author Posted 1 November 2006 Some FA thing being set up in Burton. I presume you mean the National Football Academy that the FA abandon so they could spend more money on Wembley. Nice to know that the guardians of football in England have their priorities sorted. After all we wouldn't want to deprive them of their padded/heated life time seat executive seats would we?. Bitter - moi

Bitter - moi You presume right Mr G, Dennis Coath was there so it must have been important If it had been Forest it would have been the main story on the main news never mind the sport.
Chandler Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Let's just say a little bird told me that LCFC alone will NEVER own the Walkers Stadium if MM takes over. And if some of you rude, loud mouthed ignorant gits can shut the fcuk up and stop me having my posts removed you might just learn what MM's plans REALLY are.
chili_con_carne Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Pompey fans not happy We're known as the 'hoofers' to them  there just jealous at the fact we have got a better stadium and are on the up. By the way didnt all this Mandaric take-over talk come after the idea of a band at the ground? Maybe Milan just likes bands
