I agree. When I read the book, I lost my mind at the "Blip-A" part. It's kinda crap that they've ruined that.

Yeh exactly, and how that the progrsses. Ah well, as I say mates who'd not read the book still really enjoyed it.

Dead Man's Shoes is getting a Blu-ray update (Source: Second Sight Films).

Shame they couldn't locate the original 16mm film. No 4K upgrade, then.

Big fan of Shane Meadows.

Coincidentally. he's got a new movie, Chork, coming out this year.

Was shown at the Phoenix last year for the 20th. Unbelievable film.

Peaky Blinders film

decent

Thought it was average at best.

They could've done much more with it and just felt like a normal episode.

At least there's no loose ends.

I think average is a compliment.

I found it to be ****ing boring, horribly acted and had a plot that made next to no sense. The whole thing got way too full of itself that it forgot what made it so good in series 1-5.

It's a shame but just shows how difficult it is to close off these massive TV programmes.

12 hours of cinematic ecstasy.

Though I did have to rewatch the whole of Return of the King the next day as I had an accidental micro sleep before the Paths of the Dead scene and spend the rest of the night desperately trying to remain conscious.

I did say "at best".

I don't think it was horribly acted but storyline and characters were weak and lacked the polish the first series had. Strange to ignore the Mosley/Churchill story arc as that would make more sense.

I agree GOT and Stranger Things have suffered similar fates closing out their shows.

They didn't ever need to go down the Mosley/Churchill route. I think the show started to go downhill when Tommy became an MP.

IMO the series peaked at S4. They opened up the lines between American/British crime wars and should have brought in Al Capone as they teased with in the final of S4.

Breaking Bad will forever be the standard bearer on how you finish an 10/10 TV series.

Couldn't agree more! To be honest when I finished the last seasons of PB I wasn't satisfied because I felt there was more of a conclusion to be had....now I've watched the film (completely rushed, convoluted and generally poor writing) I wish they'd just left it as is!

Watched Twisters the re-hash, predictable but enjoyed it. Good graphics

I quite liked it. You don't really see Daisy Edgar-Jones in anything much.

Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990).

I don't see what all the fuss is about with regards to gore. Even the uncensored version is rather milquetoast.

First story has the most star-studded cast, the cat tale is the worst.

Finally got around watching Weapons.

I liked it a lot, and how the different stories come together. Amy Madigan deserved her Oscar. Julia Garner and Josh Brolin were also great casting choices.

I wished they delved a bit more into one particular character's backstory.

Other than that:

7.5/10

Been following Zach Cregger since his days in Whitest Kids U' Know alongside one of my big comedy heroes Trevor Moore which I absolutely loved.

Mad to see him become the most in-demand horror director right now alongside maybe Robert Eggers.

Hightly recommend his previous film Barbarians if you haven't seen it already and can't wait to see what he does with Resident Evil reboot.

Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie

as boring as the book

I'm normally a fan of whatever she's in, but I'm in no hurry to see it.

Soundtrack is good though.

I read the book and wasn't impressed. It did make me think and discuss it a lot afterwards with my mate though who saw the film in the cinema.

Hardcore (1979).

George C. Scott goes on a rampage trying to find his daughter lost in the California porn industry.

Just become one of my favourite movies. Just all-around perfect. The script, the actors, the atmosphere, the soundtrack.
