MBK Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 If we're doing so well, why all th hurry? Let the people who are charged with looking after our club do their job diligently and in their own good time. hmmm i really agree. why s mandarich hurrying so much...its a record bid timeframe... whats the alternative so to him mentioned in the OS
MBK Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I agree with everything Master Fox said ( for once!! ) Thracian, I agree that whilst we're doing a good job then the people should be left to do their jobs, as you put it, "diligently and in their own good time." But as Master Fox pointed out, we need funds for January if we are to develop further and push on in this league (A nice right midfielder would be perfect, and perhaps a creative player as well ) yeah but kinda remember when these things happen team cohesion goes zero thinking of derby, southampton sunderland etc
Thracian Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Good point Thrac, but if this is going to happen we need funds available to strengthen the squad in January to push for a play off place. I have full confidence that the board / shareholders will make the right decision to take us forward as a club. LCFC On The Up!!!!! I'm sure if all these bids are on or near the table Leicester City will have enough credibility at the bank to do what they need.
Mort Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Does anyone think that the club may have told a little white lie in saying that more than Mandaric was interested?? Just so he put his bid in?? I'd forgive them if they did ...but it wouldnt surprise me, the talk of other offers suddenly comming through struck me as odd, the american bid sounds like it might have some legs to it, but over all Milan's bid sounds like the most serious offer by some distance.
MBK Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed that he has made a bid to buy Leicester. Mandaric - who left Portsmouth in September after eight years in charge before taking control of Slovenian first division side NK Koper - has also admitted that he would have preferred a longer break before taking control of anywhere else. But the Serbian-born American tycoon has found himself overwhelmed by offers from clubs who wanted him and he admits he felt under pressure. "I feel I have made a fair and generous offer to acquire Leicester City Football Club from the present shareholders," the 68-year-old said. "Under the circumstances and following a very emotional departure from Portsmouth Football Club after nearly eight years of ownership, I have given serious thought to the offer, the timing and the implications of such a bid. "In an ideal world I would have preferred to have delayed my return to football. But under the circumstances and following other interest in the club I have had to accelerate takeover plans." Mandaric has promised Leicester fans that his main aim is to take the club back into the Premiership, just as he did with Portsmouth. "My aim is to re-awaken Leicester City and aspire to the dreams of their passionate supporters and bring Premiership football back to the club at the earliest opportunity," he said. The bid for Leicester is reported to be in the region of £25 million (37 million euros). eurosport.co.uk

The bit in bold, just also shows how desperate he is to acquire us!
surrifox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Since MM has spared us the "ever since I was an embryo I treasured the day I would be able to attend a match at (insert Club name here). My dear father loved them too and it was an impossible dream to own them- praise the Lord" speech one must assume that he is buying City for one thing and one thing alone- VALUE. If he perceives value one would have to ask why the present shareholders and management don't. If the offer consists of funding the buyback of the stadium , providing a transfer kitty and paying off the shareholders ask yourself- if I was a shareholder why would I sell for a modest return on my original stake when I put up money at a time when no other would invest money or touch the club with a bargepole? If they do , this shows they are genuine lovers of City and should be recognised as such.

Thats very true and if they don't then they can't call themselves true Leicester fans and want whats best for this club.
Daggers Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Shocking breaking news: Mandaric Ties The KnotIn a shocking twist of events, latest news that I've just made up disclose that Milan Mandaric has not put in a bid for Leicester City for any reason other than the fact that they wear blue. "It has always been my favourite colour, I have a lot of blue ties and Chelsea were not for sale" he said emphatically. Asked if he had considered buying Ipswich Town, Mandaric's representative laughed.
Jon the Hat Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Thats very true and if they don't then they can't call themselves true Leicester fans and want whats best for this club. They deserve some payback for the turnaround they have ovverseen. Lets leave the recriminations for after something goes wrong!!
fox123 Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Yeah but, most of those bids are rubbish, I know for a fact cus I made one of the bids!! And i'm sure Ultra has aswell!!! Singh did you approach various local businessman about forming a consortium to buy the club? If it is you i hear you were pissed off!
lookwhaticando Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 But Pompey have a shit academy anyway, we already have a good one and a manager who believes in them. Indeed we do, and we best not change that fact.
cisono Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 According to radio leicester there was a bid placed at 9 o clock this morning didn't say who from tho yeah that was me!
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 According to another site, the East Midlands company is Bardon Aggregates.
gatesheadfox Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 According to another site, the East Midlands company is Bardon Aggregates. wtf is bardon aggregates?
lcfc_jme Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 wtf is bardon aggregates? aren't they the bunch who sponsor the Tigers?? Bradstone Aggregates sponsor the Tigers, whether the two are the same or not I do not know Bardon Aggregates
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 I didn't think they were that rich. Loaded, if memory serves me right, they were subject to a huge take-over by a German company about a year ago.
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 wtf is bardon aggregates? If you drive on the road, the surface you are on is more than likely to have come from them.
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 aren't they the bunch who sponsor the Tigers?? Believe so.
gatesheadfox Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 If you drive on the road, the surface you are on is more than likely to have come from them. tarmac do the roads up here. a great add from them is "tarmac, supporting newcastle in bloom"...by tarmac-ing everything?
lcfc_jme Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Believe so. Bradstone Aggregates do the Tigers as I saw on their shirts, so are they the same or different to Bardon Aggregates
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Bradstone Aggregates do the Tigers as I saw on their shirts, so are they the same or different to Bardon Aggregates They are part of the same group of companies.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 They are part of the same group of companies. Ahh I see. Maybe that's why they have so much money then I'd still prefer to see Milan come in though, but we'll just have to wait and see what the club decides to do from here
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 They want to buy the ground for their 'other' interests.
