davieG Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 No one has anything else new to add at the moment then? I hate these long drawn out takeover bids You hate takeover bids then
Bluefoxtim Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 2 weeks? I just hope these other bids are worthwhile and not just wasting time...
Robbofox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Or the American businessmen... I heard it was an the American Businessman, was one of Malcom Glazers relatives.
Master Fox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I heard it was an the American Businessman, was one of Malcom Glazers relatives. Really..?? What's his wealth?
Robbofox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Really..?? What's his wealth? Really dont know there pretty minted, could have more than Milan. Its all hear say though, so could just like the pop band turn out to be crap.
blue blood Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 How do you know this? this comes from people that rub shoulders with the board
blue blood Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Don't think so - due diligence can take up to three weeks, plus any bids that the board think are OK have to be put to the shareholders, normally 21 days' notice. Plus if the board have any sense ( and I suspect they have ), it would be worth not rushing headlong into the first bid, and try to get some more bids out of the woodwork. smart alec!! let me rephrase that. a bid should be accepted today or tomorrow
Surreal Madrid Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 smart alec!! let me rephrase that. a bid should be accepted today or tomorrow Why the hurry? It seems there is a queue longer than Dion's donger wanting to take us over.
Monk Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I'm well chuffed. Its so good to see us in the news again for all the right reasons!
lcfc_jme Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I'd love to be taken over sooner rather than later. The time is right now, as we're unbeaten in 8 league games and won yesterday, not to mention the fact that enthusiasm is higher around the place than it has been in a long, long time.. Bring on Mandaric :D
Dr The Singh Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Why the hurry? It seems there is a queue longer than Dion's donger wanting to take us over. Yeah but, most of those bids are rubbish, I know for a fact cus I made one of the bids!! And i'm sure Ultra has aswell!!!
Janx Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 smart alec!! let me rephrase that. a bid should be accepted today or tomorrow why would they do that? that like putting a car on ebay and getting the first bid then taking it...why not wait for the auction to run its course, at least see if others come to the table I reckn Mandy will give us a few weeks to allow due dilligence, and for him to look at the books etc. CHILL MAN
Fox in a Box Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 OFFICIAL NOW http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~921330,00.html Official Statement Leicester City today confirmed they have received a formal offer for the club from former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric. The offer is one of a number of options available to the club in terms of generating new investment to fund the club's ambitions. "We have a number of options available to the Board and it is imperative that the right decision is taken to safeguard, protect and develop the best interests of the football club in the short, medium and long term. Ryanside Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Doesnt it feel like the Christmas morning when you were 5 and you ran downstairs and saw all your presents?!?!
Master Fox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Yeah but, most of those bids are rubbish, I know for a fact cus I made one of the bids!! And i'm sure Ultra has aswell!!! I want Singh to take ownership.
Thracian Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 I'd love to be taken over sooner rather than later. The time is right now, as we're unbeaten in 8 league games and won yesterday, not to mention the fact that enthusiasm is higher around the place than it has been in a long, long time.. Master Fox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 If we're doing so well, why all th hurry? Let the people who are charged with looking after our club do their job diligently and in their own good time. Good point Thrac, but if this is going to happen we need funds available to strengthen the squad in January to push for a play off place. I have full confidence that the board / shareholders will make the right decision to take us forward as a club. LCFC On The Up!!!!!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 For all the doubters out there….. If our club is taken over it will be an almost unique takeover in so much that yes there have been many takeovers in the past ie. Stoke, Derby, Notts County, Leeds that haven’t worked. But the common denominator in all these bids was that the clubs were almost all in the red. To my knowledge our books are quite healthy. If an investor does come in and ploughs about £25 Million in it can only be good news, finally we might be able to own part or if not all of our stadium, we will also be able to secure our contracted players, afford higher wages if not spend a little cash in the transfer market too. Do not worry about our promising youth set up, look at Portsmouth, Gary O’Neil, Matt Taylor etc… are still playing. So get behind potential investment as Milan has stated he wants to bring us Prem football again and that cant be a bad thing…..

Bought from Luton Town for £400k But Pompey have a shit academy anyway, we already have a good one and a manager who believes in them.

I agree with everything Master Fox said ( for once!! ) Thracian, I agree that whilst we're doing a good job then the people should be left to do their jobs, as you put it, "diligently and in their own good time." But as Master Fox pointed out, we need funds for January if we are to develop further and push on in this league (A nice right midfielder would be perfect, and perhaps a creative player as well )
Bert Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Does anyone think that the club may have told a little white lie in saying that more than Mandaric was interested?? Just so he put his bid in??
