Wycombe Fox Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Is it just me who thinks elvis is reading the www.sporting-heroes.net writeing above him? Spooky. Nah! He's following the ball after his latest first touch off his left foot!
The People's Hero Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 A good first day. Congrats to Monty.. the pressure on him to perform (even personally) must have been immense. Let's hope we post a decentish score and then bowl them out cheaply again. Put some pressure on THEM for a change. Might convince my mate who has SKY that I need to stay there and watch the cricket tonight!
Bert Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 The thing that makes me smile most, Monty has took more wickets than Giles did in two whole tests. A great start let's build on it witha solid 4-500 and get a victory back, we only need to draw the series to retain the ashes.
Victory_Fan Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Monty was good today, but he is no Warne G-Day from an Aussie by the way, hope all of you my friends from UK are enoying this Ashes as much as we are
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 This is exactly what WILL happen if selected. Wahey.
The People's Hero Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Wahey. Fezzler you numpty! I've got to admit, although he is a quality bowler, I was surprised by his immediate positive impact. Fair play to him and to Fletcher for playing him this test. I know a lot of people wanted Monty in but in all fairness Fletcher has perhaps 'admitted' he made a mistake in leaving him out... which many people in positions like that in sport are loathe to do. I just really, really hope we capitalise on this.
Milky Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 i stayed up till 7am to watch it. Very entertaining, his celebrations are just quality.
Maybes Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Lets be realistic we arnt going to get more than 300 while batting. Great performance from monty though
Tommeh Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 I'm gona try and stay up and watch a bit tonight/tomorrow morning Shouldn't be too difficault I've got 2 essays to do
Maybes Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 I'm gona try and stay up and watch a bit tonight/tomorrow morning Shouldn't be too difficault I've got 2 essays to do Could be worse, you could have work in the morning.
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 It's official. Australia 3-0 England Ashes Over The end.
Finnegan Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Soooo. Going 3 - 0 down in the series is bad, right?
dandannieldanok Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Whats the definition of optimism? England batsmen applying suncream
dandannieldanok Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 What do Michael Jackson and Geraint Jones have in common? They both wear gloves unnecessarily
Wilkesy Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 What do Michael Jackson and Geraint Jones have in common? They both wear gloves unnecessarily nice 1 we have thrown the ashes away for sure now Gilchrist = MACHINE !!!
Jonbluefox9 Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 Australia under-performed in England 2005, we played very well and we managed to sneak home in the end. This time, Australia are back to something resembling their best, we've gone back to our old ways and they're going to regain the Ashes with ease. At least they'll be coming back to the home of cricket as always!
Simi Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 Clarke and Gilchrist gave us a right spanking last night. Shame the bad weather is unlikely to help us out this time round!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 262-5 at the moment. Pietersen and Flintoff in. Nice to see Cook (116) and Bell (87) got a bit of a rally going.
Brummie-FOX Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Isn't it about time the Aussies slipped up?
Suffolk_fox Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 I cannot believe how we have flopped. Fletcher Out!!!
Kilworthfox Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 I cannot believe how we have flopped. Fletcher Out!!! I dont claim to know anything about cricket, but I think it was the 2nd test that we did well for 4 days and shiite for 1. on the fourth or fifth day the commentator asked nasser if the England team would have any thoughts of going for a win and they were in a good position, and Nasser said no that they would play for a draw. I thought well what a load of shite, our national team does not go out to win anymore! Can you immagine if it was football something we actually care about? Alsn Shearer, David Platt, or Gary Lineker, a former captain saying that we will go for a draw in this one when we have a chance to win! They would get murdered in the press!
Brummie-FOX Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Am I right when I say; If England are still batting at the end of tomorrow's play, the 3rd test will be adraw?
Matt Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Am I right when I say; If England are still batting at the end of tomorrow's play, the 3rd test will be adraw? I know nothing about Cricket but i'm sure when I came in pissed up this morning and turned the TV on staring at the Cricket the commentator said if we were still batting at the end of tommorrow's play the liklyhood is we would win! As I said I know nothing about Cricket and I was pissed up so don't take that for granted but i'm sure the commontator said something like that!
