The Stig Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Well i'm a bit bored, ive just seen that gabby logan has left ITV, so that gave me an idea, other than the guy who presents Football Focus who's a Leicester fan, who's name I cant remember and of course Gary Linekar, who is your faveorite footy presenter.
Mark Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Jeff Stelling. Sarah-Jane Mee is a ready made replacement for Gabby Logan
lildave3 Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Chiles, Stelling or Lovejoy for me. Can't decide which though.
Flynny Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Chiles, because he's a fan and a normal bloke and doesn't seem to be smothered in makeup or perma-tanned. Lineker is a decent bloke and a Leicester fan, but his tan and his growing smugness are rather annoying. He also shot me a nasty glare at the Spurs game in January when we were shouting and waving outside the commentary/studio box thing.

Do you mean that Manish Bhasin fellow?
lookwhaticando Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Chiles. Mostly because he's one of the few names I know, and I've always liked him anyway. Decent chap, rather amusing to boot. As for Steve Rider, he always strikes me as a sort of horsey fellow. Probably all the Sunday grandstand stuff he used to do.
JoeyB Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 helen Chamberlin + lovejoy are bril bouncebackability legendery word
The Stig Posted 20 December 2006 Author Posted 20 December 2006 Do you mean that Manish Bhasin fellow? Yes, he's a Leicester fan so I thought I'd emmune him from the vote, BBC should use Chiles more often, I like Rider, don't no why I just do and I've always liked Jim Rosenthal because I'm a big F1 fan, that Jake Humphreys seems quite good and he's young so I think you'll see him in the future.
filbertway Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Chiles, Stelling or Lovejoy for me. Can't decide which though. Same
Stevosevic Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Jeff Stelling. Truely superb how he keeps going for a full 6 hours.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Stelling every time. Makes a last minute goal in a game between Torquay and MK Dons sound like the most important thing in the world - which of course it is to the fans of those teams. One of the few presenters who, unashamedly supporting Hartlepool, presents with a genuine affection for teams outside of the Premiership as well as those in it revered by everyone else (admittedly partly because his job is more conducive to it than someone who only covers Premiership games but I can't see anyone else being as enthusiastic as he is.)

Stelling is very very good, I get the Feeling when that Rob Mcaffrey guy does Soccer Special that he is trying to be Stelling and he is no where near as good.
Daggers Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Adrian Chiles' bubble has burst with me, as soon as he lost all that weight to appear nicer for tele...if he'd stayed fatter he'd have been my man fo sho'. That said, no one...NO ONE...does football like Sky. Everyone connected with the Beeb and ITV should just retire or move on to a garden design show instead. The terrestrial channels should give up covering sport, they can't do it. Erm - with the exception of cricket on C4. They should have it back.
RowlattsFox Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 chiles and stelling are quality. lovejoy is wicked on soccer am but did any see him on sky when he presented a game not so long ago, i heard he was rubbish!
Tommeh Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 went for jeff stelling, Lovejoys great on soccer am and is just getting into presenting and analysing games. Adrian Chiles is a good laugh also
Bert Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Manish Bhasin. I'm annoyed that a newsround presenter is now doing football focus.

He's a Poolie and a really nice guy in "real life" to boot. Gillette Soccer Saturday is a televisual masterpiece.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 December 2006 Posted 21 December 2006 did manish bhasin do commentaries on radio leicester before his move to bbc? if that was him, he was awful.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 December 2006 Posted 21 December 2006 did manish bhasin do commentaries on radio leicester before his move to bbc? if that was him, he was awful. Yeah, that's the one.
Sods Posted 21 December 2006 Posted 21 December 2006 jeff Stelling is total quality. To keep going at a fast pace for 6 hours is phononemol. Plus he knows his stuff and he gives smaller clubs the same affecton as bigger clubs.
