Godleman has been in appalling form all season, barely able to buy a run without even a single 50 and only 310 runs in 19 innings.

Comes in against us and finishes the day on 158*.

Other teams may as well sack their batting coaches, more effective to just wait until they play us and their batters can play their way back into form.

Good news about Taylor indeed.

However unless he brings 7 players with him can't see much changing tbh.

I do try and be positive but bloody hell we are a rabble in red ball cricket

into the middle order now 462-4. If we can't afford better players maybe go for Derbys groundstaff who in all liklihood in the 10 minutes between innings change this road to a minefield.

Walker and Ahmed  apart the bowling has been awful.

Barnes bowls at 65 mph and can't hit a length, how is it possible?

Kimber seems to be as effective as our mfront  line spinner.

All well and good a new batting coach, but it's a new Head Coach we need. He lost me earlier in the season when he threw Ackermann under the bus, saying the captain picks the team.

Him and Henderson lost me during that awful Q & A

Budinger and Kimber both went off at a good rate and then got out after getting a start in a match where we've naught else left to do but bat for time and pride, to try and salvage an unlikely draw. They looked keen to get the season over and done with.

Both caught pulling? Is that both innings Budinger’s been out that way?

We are basically playing a dangerous game of brinksmanship with the ECB at the moment.

If the ECB pulled the plug on us I don't know whether I'd enter into a rage or merely collapse from the relief of being put out of the misery that is following us.

Went across again today. Both the wickets were shocking shots. Pitch is so flat. Budinger trying to pull dal, if it was connors ok maybe beaten for pace or something but just a poor shot selection. Then Kimber just nailed it straight to him didn’t even try keeping or down or hitting over him just very poor batting. If there wasn’t a man there you’d be saying great shot as he timed it lovely but he didn’t even have to move, idiotic.

Both got in on a flat pitch and got themselves out, really unacceptable.

Evans got his 50 in good time for him yesterday at a s/r of over 50 (compared to his rate of 34 for the season). Wonder if that means he's been working on his game or whether this is him batting with reckless abandon like Budinger and Kimber.

He's actually going to be there or thereabouts with Azad average wise for the season and if he goes on today will go past him. That would be a positive to take into next season.

From the bits of play I've seen, Derbyshire just batted sensibly and avoided risky shots. By contrast, many of our wickets have been given away rather than earned by Derbyshire's bowlers.
