London_Fox Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 I think you are wrong mate! Warnock has this season conducted himself superbly and unlike many managers around has been honest and had a smile on his face. Of course at times he has gone OTT but he is maturing finally ( almost 60) but that too can be said of Alex Ferguson who used to come out with some cracking stuff and rant like a good un if things didnt go his way. Come off it mate. This whole 'media-mind games' thing that Jose, Ferguson and Benitez got involved with this year was one thing. Trying to affect other teams before big games and all of that. What was "superb" in his end of season rant about Liverpool, Man Utd and all that, blaming anyone but himself. Jose has been the same this season by the way. For all you say about Ferguson look at his reaction after losing to Milan (when it's all over and no psycology left to play), said his team didn't perform well enough and wished the two finalists good luck. I don't like Ferguson and his attitude either, very few people do, but the difference is that he has done amazing things in football and back up his attitude with 9 premiership titles, a Champions League title, a few FA Cups and some other bits along the way...sadly Warnock just has the mouth.
Ric Flair Posted 16 May 2007 Author Posted 16 May 2007 You're ignorant, WarnockBy JANINE SELF NEIL WARNOCK has been branded ignorant by Leicester chairman Jon Holmes after he blasted the club's running. The Foxes supremo was left fuming when Sheffield United boss Warnock accused the new set-up of bending rules during its takeover this season. Holmes raged: "Mr Warnock is a talented manager but has never scaled any great heights for reasons he might wish to consider in a less self-confident and brash frame of mind. "I have never regarded Neil Warnock as a reliable holder of the morals of football and he is ignorant of the facts concerning this club." Leicester went into administration earlier this season but a consortium led by Holmes and Gary Lineker saved the day. The rescue package involved deals with creditors including the Inland Revenue and the company behind their Walkers Stadium. Leicester were stopped from borrowing or buying players but still clinched promotion last week. And the Football League last week threatened to start deducting points from clubs that go into administration. But Holmes added in tomorrow's programme for the home clash with Norwich: "In no way, did any of the consortium members seek to 'bend the rules' as Neil Warnock has incorrectly and libellously alleged. "It is simplistic and ignorant to describe the process as sweeping away all debts and starting again. "The new club has inherited a considerable amount of debt. "The consortium took these responsibilities when no other credible purchaser emerged during administration. "The alternative was for Leicester to be wound up completely. "There is now talk of making it harder for other clubs to escape administration, and imposing punishments including the docking of points. Before the clubs in their apparent moral outrage rush to premature measures, I would like them to consider whether such action will serve the football community as a whole. "It seems to me that if it is made harder for clubs to survive under financial hardship, those who will really be punished are the fans." Article from The Sun at the end of the 2002/03 season. Warnock loves us.
STUHILL Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Article from The Sun at the end of the 2002/03 season. Warnock loves us. i remember this. I vowed to hate Warnock ever since! And now he could be our next manager!
Lord Nibblington Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 I'm quite suprised that no one has mentioned Warnock's alleged role in trying to get the game against West Brom abandoned in 2002.
Ric Flair Posted 16 May 2007 Author Posted 16 May 2007 I'm quite suprised that no one has mentioned Warnock's alleged role in trying to get the game against West Brom abandoned in 2002. Enlighten me? I don't recall this.
AyewJoking Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 I heard he quit Sheff Utd because they offered him a £450,000 per year contract in the Championship rather than £750,000 had they been in the Premier League. Will be interesting how much Milan will offer him should he try to sign the w@nker.

Of course at times he has gone OTT but he is maturing finally ( almost 60) but that too can be said of Alex Ferguson who used to come out with some cracking stuff and rant like a good un if things didnt go his way. but that is part of the reason i hate him, i felt so sorry for the SU fans when he'd appear on tv after a crap defeat with a big grin on his face saying rubbish like 'well we were a bit crap weren't we?' or 'well, they were better than us, i'm not surprised we lost' like it was some kind of joke... my skin crawls at the thought of it!
teblin Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Enlighten me? I don't recall this. Got players sent off on purpose. in a game where west brom were winning 3 - 0
Lillehamring Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 what this really comes down to is ambition. how many players (dublin/horsfield/wise) and managers (bassett) have we had who just came here to earn a nice little pay check before retiring, what kind of ambition would signing warnock show - he's past it, if he was ever going to win the premiership or qualify for europe he'd have done it by now. with mandaric in place you have to be looking at a manager who, in a few years, should be coaching a team in europe, thats what we're all hoping for. look at the best managers (ferguson/wenger/benitez) these things take time and warnock doesn't sound like even he believes he has much of that left.

Karljohn Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Must admit having "done my time" with the likes of Hamilton, Pleat, Taylor and Levein....the thought of Colin coming down to the Walkers is not appealing to me. In fact I cannot think of anyone worse coming to our football club, Dennis Wise perhaps? but then even Wise isnt from Nottingham.

Who gives a shit if he's from Nottingham, or Nice?! He's a lot better than the majority of other candidates.
Lillehamring Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Who gives a shit if he's from Nottingham, or Nice?!He's a lot better than the majority of other candidates. is he? in what way - in his long illustrious career, what has he won? same with worthington, all these has beens, same names for all these vacancies - none of them have won anyhthing, or achieved any distinstion - ok, neither had o'neill, but he wasn't sixty odd!
Dames Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Don't want him, would rather have Glenn Hoddle here than that man.

Completely going off topic, are there any Valerenga players worth looking at? I see Rune Lange plays for Valerenga and Daniel Fredheim Holm is highly rated isn't he? Any others?
Sods Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 hate him with a passion, sort of man milan would go for though imo
Geo V Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Come off it mate. This whole 'media-mind games' thing that Jose, Ferguson and Benitez got involved with this year was one thing. Ferguson has Moaninho have won plenty, that I cannot argue with but that shouldnt give them more of a voice to criticize opponents or referee`s. Every manager deserves the right to show passion at whatever level and NW certainly does that although he does go OTT at times. Then again, turn the clock back a few months. People not only wanted a total waster like Newell who would spout off about anything but we had a manager at the helm who was so ridiculed for hsi same old post and pre-match chats that we would rip him apart with a new thread about his re-doubled efforts and how everyone was trying! I must admit I am a fan of his because in a current climate to disregard English managers unless they have just ended succesful playing careers, Warnock has slowly but surely worked his way through the divisions that starte din non league football and ended up at the peak of our game when its en vogue to hire foreign managers or simply make a player a manager. So many managers have fallen by the wayside and cant get jobs but in his career Warnock has managed to keep on going despite managing some of the countries most unattractive clubs (with all due to respect ) and he has actually achieved premiership status as a manager. If he was foreign like Morinho or Wenger, ranting at the refs, clubs etc we would be laughing with him, because its Warnock who is a hard working English bloke we laugh at him. Also to those who comment on what he said about us, lets be fair and admit that 99.9% of the people in football felt the same way but not many had the guts to come out and say it. It wasnt a personal attack on the people but the way we dealt with the situation. BTW, another good reason to get him is because of this I just read on wiki... Under Warnock's management, Notts County briefly rivalled the Reds (Nottingham Forest) in the early 1990s. As well as this, many Forest fans have accused him of underhand tactics during games between their team and Sheffield United, particularly the playoff semi final second leg in 2003. Forest supporters' dislike of him has only increased the already huge popularity he enjoys amongst Notts County supporters
Joe. Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Like I've said before, Warnock is possibly a very strong candidate for the job now I think. Mandaric tried to get him whilst he was at Portsmouth so is clearly a big admirer of Warnock. Warnock's also said he would like to get back into management as soon as possible. It just all adds up for me
Karljohn Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Who gives a shit if he's from Nottingham, or Nice?!He's a lot better than the majority of other candidates. I give a shit! the guy is called Colin willy puller for a reason! he's achieved fook all at 58 years of age and is only known for his moaning! Do you have the inside track on the other candidates because I can guarantee you won't have thought of at least half of them! what about guys who are already in jobs? its happened to us before so why not?
Micky Ruddle Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 He'd never be on my short list as a manager if i was Milan! Just reading his name makes me hate him much much more than before ... linking him with the City post! That's another story!
Lillehamring Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 Completely going off topic, are there any Valerenga players worth looking at? I see Rune Lange plays for Valerenga and Daniel Fredheim Holm is highly rated isn't he? Any others? hmm, they aren't exactly the form team here - but (before the old man goes ape about irrelevant posting) if warnock got in, he might have a look at ronny johnson, a good up and coming player! this will probably be laughed off the board, and i don't think he's working, but the manager respected most over here is egil olsen, remember him, apparently he was great at getting players to play a certain system, after the inconsistant management styles witnessed at city just lately, it would be nice to have a manager who actually had a playing system....
Ultra Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 The only reason this little scumbag would EVER come to our club would be to finish the job started by Peter Taylor and the poison dwarf. If Mandaric seriously wants to offer this ignorant, paranoid, inadequate bully a chance to ruin OUR club then he should be sectioned before someone shoots him! "Colin" has had just TWO seasons in top-flight football during his long managerial career. Both have ended in the drop. Surely that statistic alone should be enough to convince ANYONE with the remotest shred of ambition or affection for City that he is not the man for us, and never will be?
Craig Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 I give a shit! the guy is called Colin willy puller for a reason! he's achieved fook all at 58 years of age and is only known for his moaning! Only known for his moaning? And there's the reputation that his teams play with fights and desire too, oh, and constantly being in and around the playoffs, and also almost saving his from relegation from the premiership too - something that in our past two premiership seasons we have not been close to doing. And note, i said the majority of candidates. There will be some better than him out there, but there's a hell of a lot that are worse.
blue blood Posted 16 May 2007 Posted 16 May 2007 its a bloody good job he wants a prem club Id hate to have him here, id rather have wortho....they have both been promoted and relegated once, no? the only difference is that wortho took norwich up in less time. wornock you can go manage a prem club, a non league club or any club inbetween. Dont you dare step foot in my beloved leicester you toss pot. can someone justify why MM would want him or even why he is MM's kind of man?
