AoWW Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Has anyone been to Maiyango's Restaurant (I think it's a cocktail-type place too - fairly new, I assume)? I can't quite place where it is... St Nicholas Place, apparently (someone local: anywhere near Mosquito Coast?). Anyhow, any good... yea or nay?
Uncle Monty Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 The Eataway near Dominoes is the shit, very classy place - chinese food - £7 all you can eat

Maiyango is bloody brilliant for both food and atmosphere (if you like it relaxed) - been there a couple of times at lunchtime and the evening. It's right at the beginning of High Street - next to subway and opposite St Nicholas Car Park. Cocktails are really good too!

Cheers... at least I won't look a complete plank wandering around trying to find it now! Sounds worth a try. Cocktails........mmmmmmmm... well, I guess I could be persuaded - seems kinda rude not to, really!
Tevez Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Flame, all you can eat Chinese is really nice and it's also cheap.

Miyango is a great night out didn't know they did food to be honest me and my mates normally just go for a piss up there before we go to Mosh after High Cross. However its a bit pricey and as the above post said its next to Subway and a few doors down from Mosh nightclub. Ao overall a yea from me! Have also seen the oracle that is Louis Dodds in there a few times so you might get yourself a treat. But then again the barman also accused me and my mates of snorting coke in the bogs once because we went for a piss one after another, shocking really seeing as blokes go for a piss together all the time (we werent snorting coke btw)

Rocky Dennis Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Barceloneta on Queens road is fantastic, authentic spanish interior, lovely food (try the monkfish and king prawn kebabs) and the bar below 'Dos Hermanos' has a fantastic atmosphere, wicked mojito's.

They do that thing where they bring you little things to try between your courses. About £80 for two with only one drinking (me!). If you're going make sure you book a booth thing.
Rocky Dennis Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Couldn't resist.

James. Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 What sort of scran do you want?Shimla Pinks or The Tiffin are decent Indians up London Road. Up for anything. Went to Shimla Pinks last time I was in Leicester. Very nice place that. May try The Tiffin, cheers. Any more suggestions welcome...

Casa Romana just off Belvior Street, which is about a 3-4 min walk from the Station (you probably know that) is a very, very good Italian Restaurant. The steaks from there are superb as well.

James. Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Zizzi's. Chain of Italians that won't break the bank. Think it's on Belvoir St Yeah been there couple of times in London. To be honest I think I'm going to go for Ric's suggestion of this Casa Romana place. Looks pretty good. Will give some feedback to those who are interested (and to those that aren't).

Alexikokopops Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Zizzi's. Chain of Italians that won't break the bank. Think it's on Belvoir St Me, Fez and TPH ended up there for our hungover meal after the first U21 vs O21 match last year. I've never had a two course Italian while hungover before, usually a fry-up will suffice.
