escape2victory Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 You're on.£10 that is. My mum is too hot to handle. With a bit of luck he will go to Norwich or stay at Scunny. If he goes to Wolves I may be in trouble !
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 With a bit of luck he will go to Norwich or stay at Scunny. If he goes to Wolves I may be in trouble ! Or if he goes to Wolves and Izale replaces him at Scunny.
Simi Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 who?? That Izale McLeod person. You know the one the thread is about.
MPH Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 I was just saying. It seems quite a few teams have been out the blocks abit early this year and seeing as were one of them i thought we would have wanted to tie up one of our supposed main targets. i think now is the time to be signing all the non contract players but you'll notice very few signings will of been made that have cost a significant amount of money. You do get the impression though Allen wants his squad assembled before pres season training starts. good idea too in my opinion....
The Don Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 We might get izzie and have cort as well as hume and fryatt. but who's gonna create ther chances?? Currently we have no wingers and no creative midfielder!!!
Babylon Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 We might get izzie and have cort as well as hume and fryatt. but who's gonna create ther chances?? Currently we have no wingers and no creative midfielder!!! You really think we will get to the start of the season and not signed any midfielders?
The Don Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 You really think we will get to the start of the season and not signed any midfielders? Hope not - just saying that the priority must be for those midfielders
Lord Nibblington Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 You really think we will get to the start of the season and not signed any midfielders? But didn't you hear? Martin's gone on holiday. And the transfer window shuts tomorrow. So we can't sign anyone else.
morris1234 Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 But didn't you hear?Martin's gone on holiday. And the transfer window shuts tomorrow. So we can't sign anyone else. dont scare me
ronnup Posted 22 June 2007 Posted 22 June 2007 dont scare me We've got well spoilt with the amount of action going on. I'm sitting here thinking 'we've not had a transfer for days, there must be something announced today'. Amazing how things change. I love it!!!!
RedOnRed Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 Agree. I'd like to see him at the club but £1.5m is a lot of money. Just hope it isn't our whole transfer budget for fees. From how I understand it the Dons are expecting £2 million for him.
Gené and Tonic Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 Ludicrous or insane are not strong enough words

MPH Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 From how I understand it the Dons are expecting £2 million for him. They MUST be insane. If Sharp is selling for 2m then they cant expect to get more than half of that based on the divisions the players were in. if they are not careful they will price him out of a move, teams will sign other players and they will be left with a player on their books who has requested a transfer and who doesnt want to play for them. Accept 1m now MK dons before its too late!!
Mort Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 if they are not careful they will price him out of a move... Thats the thing, Scunny seemed close at one point to pricing Sharp out of a move... but £2mil for a League Two striker as you say is insane, if you wanted him a fee in the range of £5-800K would seem reasonable... dont even think £1mil is realistic, unless a Prem club (for whom that kind of money is small change) decides to take a risk on him as a squad member.
rob-blue-fox Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 i thought i read somewhere that we have had an offer of £800,000 turned down. i could of been imagining it though
Steven Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 i thought i read somewhere that we have had an offer of £800,000 turned down.i could of been imagining it though I read somewhere that we had only offered £300,000.
RedOnRed Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 From how I understand it the Dons are expecting £2 million for him. It does seem a bit excessive to say the least. Having said that, we paid about £100,000 for him which was a huge gamble on our part for an unproven player and now he's actually proven that he can score in vast amounts each season - £2 million is arguably a fair price - relatively speaking and in the scale of things. At the risk of contradicting myself yet again...he did get 24 invaluable goals for us last season in Div 2, but it has to be said that he looked a lot less dangerous in previous seasons when we were in Div 1.
Pete_foxes Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 I thought Mcleod had a minimum fee release of 1mil? MK dons want to milk Mcleod for all hes worth, doubt the'd accept 800,000 would they? I wouldn't want him for anything more than a 1 mil, which i think is still abit excessive
Joe. Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 Even 1 mil is extremely excessive for a League Two player. I wouldn't like to take the gameble on him personally and wouldn't be too pleased if he arrived here for that kind of cash... <_<

All i'm aware of is that we have to pass on a percentage of the fee to Derby...which seems a bit rough seeing as we've had him 3 years and he's on his second contract.

Oh I see, thats why MK are holding out for so much then. Yeah that does sound rough.
RedOnRed Posted 23 June 2007 Posted 23 June 2007 Accept 1m now MK dons before its too late!! The thing is we don't really want to sell him and we don't need to either. That will be why the price is top dollar. £2 million might seem a lot of money, but he is a 20+ a season goal scorer which is pretty hard to come by in any division. If we were to replace him with someone of equal callibre, unless we get really lucky again we'll be having to fork out big money.
