Izale McLeod linked with Leicester

If we got him for £800k I think that would be excellent business. I believe they turned down a bid of £1M in January from Peterborough for him.

Don't think it was £1million but Posh did have a bid turned down. I might well be wrong though.

If Izale has made it clear he wants out (and don't forget he has now been transfer listed) you'd expect MK Dons to take a reduced bid.

Fair points... it's just £800k seems like a lot of money on a player similar to both Cort and Stappleton who i dont rate that much, still your probably right about £800k not getting you much (its probably the years of having no cash and what we had being badly spent, thats warped my valuation of some players :dunno:).

You sure Kisnorbo's going?... or is this just the recurrent link with Brum?

People in the know reckon it's about a done deal to either Birmingham or Fulham, it will be finalised when he get's back from that tournament he's playing in.

£1.25-1.5 million

How on earth can you think Matty Fryatt is older than 21, I struggle to believe he is 21, the lad looks about 15!

£800,000 takes the piss a bit from their perspective, £1.5million also takes the piss from ours.

I think he may well end up here for about £1.2million and to be honest it could be a very good buy indeed. I don't think Mort's constant argument about him failing to cut it at this level is very valid to be honest. That was a long time ago and he's scored nigh on 60 league goals since then. Players who score a lot of goals at that level do tend to be fairly handy at Championship level as well i.e. Earnshaw, Eastwood and as I have no doubt whatsoever we will see this season Billy Sharp.

I think Earnshaw will be up for grabs if they are signing Sharp. Huckerby, Sharp and Earnshaw? will their budget be able to afford all three?

Always liked Earnshaw as a player. Got a face like a slapped arse, but still a good player....

Its dragging on abit now though.

I'd have thought if we really wanted him we would have tied it up by now :dunno:

Has every other club finished their summer spending then?

Have they fook, most haven't even started.

Why on earth would Earnshaw leave Norwich for Leicester? We are in exactly the same position as them, albeit with a more secure future. Earnshaw will be off to a bigger club than Norwich or Leicester and their supporters have know that for some time. The club are in a bad way financially after loosing the parachute payments..they are signing these players to replace him and will be financed by his sale.

Yes I think they want to have strength and depth to their team, they were a bit of a one trick pony with Earnie last season and when he got injured it pretty much knackered any chance of them pushing for promotion. So I doubt any will be leaving.

Exactly.

And from our point of view- why rush?

He'll be coming here, don't worry about that.

I was just saying.

It seems quite a few teams have been out the blocks abit early this year and seeing as were one of them i thought we would have wanted to tie up one of our supposed main targets.

Very few teams have signed as many players as we have, I imagine.

We might even have been the busiest.

Charlton have been very busy and seem to be buying reasonably well (maybe with the exception of a anger prone ex-Leicester captain). Then again, you'd expect Pardew to buy well. We should be the busiest though. We are getting rid of a good amount of a wafer thin squad. We need to bring in loads more players than anyone else does.

Yep, I think we might have made the most signings in the top 2 divisions, we must be close.

Well there's definately more to come, you can't disagree with that.

I'd say at least another three or four. Not getting optimistic about a 'big' signing though. It would be nice to get in a Brunt or an Earnshaw but I just can't see us getting any players in who have a good reputation in the division or paying £1m+. I'm not going to get excited...if it happens it will be a big plus but I can see many users on here being dissapointed due to unrealistic ambition. I think that Kaabi and Mcleod will be the biggest of the signings still to come but of course I could be totally wrong.
