Frode Kippe

Leicester are believed to be trailing former Liverpool man Frode Kippe.

Reports emanating from Norway suggest Leicester are weighing up a move for the central defender.

Kippe is currently playing for Lillestrom after failing to establish himself at Anfield during his three years at the club.

The 29-year-old has recaptured his best form at Lillestrom and he has been a consistent figure in the side over the last few seasons.

Leicester are thought to have had Kippe watched during Sunday's defeat to Brann as they target potential signings for next season.

Kippe is in the dark regarding any interest from Leicester.

"I haven't heard anything," Kippe told Nettavisen.

Another central defender.

Well we are cleary going to replace McCarthy.

McAuley, Kenton, Kisnorbo, N Gotty.

I can understand what you're saying, I'd just rather see us in the market for some midfielders.

With Maybury listed I'd imagine that N'Gotty will be first choice RB with Stearman in reserve. Hence we probably could do with another CB. After the Jimmy signing it looks like either MM or McKay have some Scandanavian contacts, because I doubt the MK Dons budget included overseas scouting!

Kisnorbo is off.

I got that feeling reading the article. People have said to me that Derby are sniffing around. Can't see Mlan going out and getting Kippe without knowing he needed to replace someone.

Do you know we aren't?

Obviously I don't but all we have to go is what we read in the media or whatever, which to be fair is rarely realiable.

Is that your opinion Fez or have you some substance to your ketchup???

Bob Hazell on Talking Balls has alluded to it a lot, especially recently. He seems to know his onions. I don't see why we would be linked with all these centre-backs (de Zeeuw, N'Gotty, Kippe etc) if there wasn't something in it and he did impress last season for large periods.

I wouldn't be devastated if he left though. The song opportunities for Kippe are endless.

Yeah, Bob Hazell has been reliable in the past. I hope he's wrong on this one, I was kinda hoping we'd be building the team around him this year! Would want £3 mill for him to be honest!

£1-2million is more realistic to be honest.

I am sure I read somewhere that we are going to have a reserve side next season as well. I am sure that we would want a bit more strength and depth to the side rather than rely on a limit number of players. Kenton is likely to be a reserve player , N Gotty may not be able to play everygame and I am purely being ageist (sorry) that leaves two CB's all we need is another McCarthy injury and we are struggling at the back. If MM is prepared to pay the wages then the more strength and depth through out the side the better. If this guy has been at Liverpool for three years he would have learnt a thing or two, sure he didnt break into the team but then Liverpool have had a pretty strong set of consistent CB's.

Yes but when you consider how much we got for McCarthy and how much we stole from Wigan for Connelly, I think Kis must be valued between 2 & 3 mill. Another factor that will make the figure rise is the fact we don't need to sell him! :dunno:
