Milky Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 on sky sports as well now I'm sure he's already had talks with us, now he's hearing what Watford have to say. This transfer isn't dead yet.
Geo V Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Don't start me on that again, absolute rubbish. Their strike records are very similar. If we believe the stats in Wikipedia (sos I don't know where else to pull the info from), Fryatt has scored 36 in 109 games whilst Elvis has scored 10 in 101. Its not just what we see in the stats that tells us that Matty is a better player but the form that we have seen on the pitch at times. Any idiot can see that Elvis has the occasional decent touch and great pace but doesnt know what to do with his attributes and stumbles off side and looks clumsy and quite weak on the ball. Fryatt seems to lack confidence but can hold the ball up and finish and thats why certain decent clubs want to pay a few pound for him whilst will be lucky to get Elvis to a D1 club.
Bluefoxtim Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 This has been dragging on for weeks now. If MA has been concentrating on getting DJ and he ends up going to Watford, surely that's 3 weeks worth of proper negotiations wasted? I would have thought he would come here, considering what MA did for him?
Ric Flair Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Well the mercury get good info from the club now thanks to their MM arse kissing pre takeover so i'm inclined to believe more of what they write now. The Leicester Mercury that also told us Lee Hendrie had been training with us recently and that DJ Campbell was on the verge of signing for us. They are no more reliable than any other paper thanks to Bill Anderson's mother.

Take a moment to think about the hold up of this deal. The fact we haven't agreed a fee with Birmingham. Watford have a lot of money to burn and are likely to be happy to pay £2 million for him. Therefore the 3 weeks of negotiating will have been done by Birmingham's board and our board. Allen has probably had talks with Campbell once and indicated to him what we'd offer him should Brum accept. Other than that, I doubt it's prevented Allen from focusing his attention on anything else.

They are no more reliable than any other paper thanks to Bill Anderson's mother. That story was never published and the article was changed within 5 minutes of going on the website. DJ Campbell was on the verge of joining us before watford put in a bid. Trust.

What the hell has elvis got to do with an argument about whether Dj Campbell or Matty Fryatt has more potential?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

It worries me that we've spent so much time on these players and still haven't brought in a striker that would suit Allen's gameplan.

DJ Campbell was on the verge of joining us before watford put in a bid. Trust.I am sure I read that about Hendrie actually in the paper? Perhaps not then.I don't think we've ever agreed a fee with Birmingham, so it's not technically true. Campbell may have indicated he'd join us however if a fee was agreed. It might have prevented the board from focusing their attention on agreeing a fee for anyone else though. It worries me that we've spent so much time on these players and still haven't brought in a striker that would suit Allen's gameplan.True, but the only striker that i'm surprised we didn't go all guns for was Todorov who kind of slipped in to Charlton without any serious interest from anyone else.

Master Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I know most of these players we’ve been linked are a pile sh*t anyway, but if the stories we've heard are true then it really is beginning to annoy me that some these players would prefer to play for teams like Charlton and Watford. Shocking.
Daggers Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Ha hargh... Set this thread hard to port Boson...we're going off sailing in search of strikers to plunder. Ha hargh.
Master Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 You wait, Milan will pull some juggernaut beast of a player into the squad that will make every other shitty club like Shef Utd want to suck our balls.
Daggers Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 You wait, Milan will pull some juggernaut beast of a player into the squad that will make every other shitty club like Shef Utd want to suck our balls. I'd love to be able to suck my own balls
Master Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I'd love to be able to suck my own balls It can be done you know....
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 It can be done you know.... Dogs do it and no one judges them, come on everyone, let's all knock a few ribs through and eat our bollucks. Who's with TBJS?

Shocking. How is it shocking, they were in the Premier League last season. We on the other hand haven't been there for going on 5 years.

Maybe players should have gone there last season then? Now they are back to being pissy little teams, overburdened by large wage bills, in the same league as us.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Maybe players should have gone there last season then? Now they are back to being pissy little teams, overburdened by large wage bills, in the same league as us. hardly, none of them have the slightest bit of financial trouble. All have more money than us and arguable better players. Charlton and Sheffied United are just as big as us anyway
Geo V Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 What the hell has elvis got to do with an argument about whether Dj Campbell or Matty Fryatt has more potential?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! PMSL Im involved in to many threads I reckon! Anyway, Im all tired out about this constant speculation on who is in and who is out. I cant wait for the season to start and the bloody transfer window to slam shut so we can have some peace. I always thought the transfer window was a shite idea until I joined this forum and if it means that 5000 threads needn't be started with only about 1% of them coming true, then slam that bugger shut.

Charlton and Sheffied United are just as big as us anyway Who said anything about Sheffield? Charlton are a bunch of South London twats. What have they won? Piss all. Well, piss all of note during my lifetime which is all that counts. Shitty little club Charlton. Shitty. Closing down your successful ladies team to save money is not a sign of a club over-burdened by Premiership salaries then? Hmm...
Joe. Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed about this if it happens. I personally thought Campbell would have been a fairly good signing and could have added something decent to our lets face it, lacklusture strike force. It seems we're getting pipped or losing out on players who we want and need such as Campbell, McLeod, Todorov, Job etc. I just hope Allen's got other players up his sleeve ready to make offers for which I'm sure he has.

Still 16 Million pounds for Darren Bent they can't be that broke. Shitty little team they may be but I'd fancy them for promotion over us.
