Cobbo Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 No there's no hope as Allen wanted to trial him and Jimmy's people didn't want that.
mancunianfox Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 To be honest - I couldn't give a flying fudge. The rumours of disagreements are precisely that. Something being whipped up by a bunch of people with nothing better to do and obviously no desire to see us progress. Gimme a link to someone reliable stating that this has happened? The nearest I have read is Barton who categorically denies it. I trust him more than Sky Sports. I just had some lush rum fudge. Very nice.
maddog Posted 15 August 2007 Author Posted 15 August 2007 Still hope to sign Jimmy though Milan and Allen may be dropping the trail and signing him straight away.
Ric Flair Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Still hope to sign Jimmy though Milan and Allen may be dropping the trail and signing him straight away. The mind boggles. Do you have an invisible friend as well?
inmemoryofdoreen Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 have i missed out on a joke or something but whats all the trail stuff ,TRIAL SURELY.
Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 The mind boggles. Do you have an invisible friend as well? Latest research says that children with invisible friends are actually more secure and psychologically sound. Daggers' Irrelevant Fact #17
Mort Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Latest research says that children with invisible friends are actually more secure and psychologically sound.Daggers' Irrelevant Fact #17 I can see that provides for greater emotional security, resulting in healthier development - then again terms like "secure" and "psychologically sound" are totally subjective, so take it all with a pinch of salt. ...sorry, wrong forum thought i was on "Shrinks - Talk". My bad.

Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 ...ever considered a career as a psychoanalyst? funnily enough... Anyway: I am training very hard to get fit BBCWe knocked back a 35 year old bloke who is still trying to get fit? Not 'maintain' fitness, not 'keep current fitness levels'...but still attempting to attain them.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 BBCWe knocked back a 35 year old bloke who is still trying to get fit? Not 'maintain' fitness, not 'keep current fitness levels'...but still attempting to attain them. I'm sure he means match fitness by that (I'm probably wrong though), he has been training with Chelsea after all and if you can't get fit in that regime you may as well pack it in.
Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 I'm sure he means match fitness by that (I'm probably wrong though), he has been training with Chelsea after all and if you can't get fit in that regime you may as well pack it in. Whatever he "means" is debatable...what he "said" is quite clearly different to your interpretation. We know nothing of the demands being made, the condition of the player or the attitude he exhibited at the meeting. We know nothing of the actual offer or the contents of any discussion between MM and MA. As I said, I'd have liked to see him stroking in some free kicks in a City shirt. Allen says it's not to be so that is that, I trust the bloke to know a little bit more about the situation than I do. </understatement>

What I refuse to accept is that we haven't signed a striker we can't afford from a club who don't want to sell him to play in central defence. MA out!
demon_dog Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 From Football 365 web site. Championship News FOXES DITCH HASSELBAINK Hasselbaink - no Leicester move. Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed the Foxes have pulled out of a deal to sign Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The 35-year-old former Leeds, Chelsea and Middlesbrough striker is without a club after been released by Charlton at the end of last season. The former Dutch international was reportedly undergoing a medical at the Walkers Stadium on Monday ahead of a possible move, according to Sky Sports. But Mandaric says that after discussions with boss Martin Allen the Championship side have now dropped their interest in the striker. "There was a chance of the signing but, after discussions with the manager, it was decided not to take it any further," Mandaric told the Leicester Mercury. "But it is still my intention to back him with some more new signings if we can." Allen has already signed three new strikers in Carl Cort, DJ Campbell and teenager Ricky Sappleton, but would welcome bolstering other areas of the team. Hasselbaink says that when he arrived in Leicester for his medical he was told that it was no longer going to take place. The 35-year-old now believes there has been a disagreement between Mandaric and Allen. "I agreed terms with Milan Mandaric thinking I was going to sign for Leicester "But I arrived in Leicester and the medical was off, obviously there is a problem between the chairman and the manager. "I got a call from the manager himself on Sunday to come for the medical, but I arrived at the training ground on Monday and the medical never happened. "I've not had a lot of explanation. They just told me that the deal wasn't off, but that the medical could not be done, I don't know what is going on." Leicester chairman Mandaric insisted the move collapsed after Foxes boss Allen said he wanted to look at Hasselbaink on trial first. "I negotiated with Jimmy his package and his needs and it took me a couple of days to sort it out," "After we agreed on the numbers there was one condition that he meet with the manager, I turned to my manager and he wanted to sign him, but he wanted to be with him for 30 days to check his form and fitness. "I never have pushed any player to my manager, it us up to the manager to make up his decision. "I don't think we have to talk about Jimmy's capabilities as a footballer, but it is the manager's choice and manager's decision and that is the end of it." What do we think of this.
Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 What do we think of this. We think it is water under the bridge - nothing left to discuss.
Onion Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 hes having a medical at cardiff today, you know for a fact he will score against us this season.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 hes having a medical at cardiff today, you know for a fact he will score against us this season. True, as an aside Morriways do the worst sandwhiches ever. Disgrace. 'Just Chicken', you should be ashamed of yourselves
Ric Flair Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 hes having a medical at cardiff today, you know for a fact he will score against us this season. I would absolutely love it, if Dave Jones and Risdale have a falling out over JFH and he has to ring up Sky Sports again to find out what's going on.
Stevosevic Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 I'm pretty pissed off with MA for not signing him, he would lose points if i had a Thracian style point system.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 I'm pretty pissed off with MA for not signing him, he would lose points if i had a Thracian style point system. Maybe we should all have one. I'm going to start him off at -13.262 based on what's happened so far.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Maybe we should all have one.I'm going to start him off at -13.262 based on what's happened so far. He can start at 100 from me. Index style.
The People's Hero Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Mine is algebraic. MA is currently on x(2y-4b) But I'm considering multiplying him by a factor of w(tf).
purpleronnie Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 If he signs for cardiff and gets 15-20 goals I'm going to be pissed, unless we're top of the league......yeah right.
Daggers Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 I believe my grading system using ancient Greek symbols was by far the most reliable.
