Daggers Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 I fancied seeing JFH here for a season, but a decision has been made not to sign someone because it was deemed not in the best interests of the club. I applaud it loudly. Mandy has said (again) that he is going to stump up for players Martin really does want. Again, more applause. Pardon me for not wanting to attempt to read in the imminent death of our club into the above scenario.
l444ry Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 it sounds like allen forgot to inform hasselbaink that he wanted him to have a trial before he signed as jimmy claims he knew nothing about it & mandaric thinks he turned it down doh! to martin methinks How the hell can you come to that conclusion, Gibbo? Mandaric said Allen told Hasselbaink he wanted to see more of him before committing to signing him. JFH refused.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 The last two days have been a smokescreen so that we forget to listen to Craig Adams 22 on www.ukcityradio.co.uk at 7.00 tonight.

Mandy has said (again) that he is going to stump up for players Martin really does want. Again, more applause. Pardon me for not wanting to attempt to read in the imminent death of our club into the above scenario. The question is who made the decision and how easily was it made? From all the rumours, it seems the decision was only made after some very large arguments, so what affect does MM and MA's working relationship have for the rest of the club and more importantly the players. All this with the added bonus of the embarassment of it being played out on Sky Sports News and the appearance of a rather obvious porky by Milan in saying that Jimmy was offered a one month trial only for Jimmy to phone in and say this wasn't true. The seemingly fairly long pause and careful choosing of words by Milan after this would indicate he wasn't necessarily being so open with the truth in the same way Jimmy was. Of course, that is conjecture based on how they performed in their interviews.
l444ry Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 because as milan was explaining that to sky sports news jimmy rang up and told them he knew nothing about the trial But Mandaric also said that Allen told JFH he wanted to take him for a couple of weeks before signing him. Why is Hasselbaink not being accused of cover-ups and telling porkies?
BigGibbo Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 But Mandaric also said that Allen told JFH he wanted to take him for a couple of weeks before signing him. Why is Hasselbaink not being accused of cover-ups and telling porkies? god knows but that seemed the most likely as we haven't heard from allen yet!
breadandcheese Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 But Mandaric also said that Allen told JFH he wanted to take him for a couple of weeks before signing him. Why is Hasselbaink not being accused of cover-ups and telling porkies? I believe Hasselbaink. I don't believe the club and Jimmy's agent would spend a long time wasting each other's time, agreeing terms, only for a player tohave to undergo a trial. A day's negotiation for both parties would be costly, so surely the trial would come first before each party committed to serious negotiations.
maddog Posted 14 August 2007 Author Posted 14 August 2007 Seems like Bank agreed terms on Friday and was told by the Chairman to go for a medical on monday. Allen then rang Bank sunday to confirm that he should come for a medical on monday at 3pm. Bank turned up for a medical and it was off because Bank didn't accept to have a trail first, even though he had already agreed a contract with nothing about a trail and he knew nothing about it. So the deal is off for now until Milan and Martin discuss it and maybe Bank will agree to a weeks trail first or maybe if Leicester don't score a goal tonight at Accrington they will decide they need to sign a striker like Hasselbaink and scrap the trail and sign him next week
maddog Posted 14 August 2007 Author Posted 14 August 2007 I just hope they reduce a trail to say 1 week and Bank accepts and then MM and MA may realise how good he is (way better than De Vries) and decide to sign him in the end.

Dames Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Was just on the news that he rejected the offer of a trial, saying it was not what he wanted. So it was him that done the rejecting i believe.

But Mandaric's negotiations appear to have been made subject to Martin Allen's agreement. Allen wanted further evidence that JFH would fit in at Leicester (a "trial" if that's the word people wish to use). This is clearly what Mandaric has said happened. Therefore, there is no cover up.... there is no porky telling.....there is no cover-up at the Walkers. .... not even a grassy knoll.

I don't know if I can agree with that assessment. I can't believe Hasselbaink and his team would have entered serious negotiations with the understanding that the manager of the team had not agreed to signing him or was particularly keen on acquiring him. It would seem that Milan did not enter negotiations in good faith, as although he could agree terms, who was he negotiating for, certainly not the manager who picks the team?
sdb Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 sky sports news are gonna show full interviews with MM and JFH at 10
Bluefoxtim Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 JFH went to the ground to have a medical...Allen took one look at him and thought, no thanks. Obviously he wanted to give him trial to see whether or not he was up to it but Allen had probably made up his mind as soon as he saw him. That's my theory anyway

Something being whipped up by a bunch of people with nothing better to do and obviously no desire to see us progress. Gimme a link to someone reliable stating that this has happened? The nearest I have read is Barton who categorically denies it. I trust him more than Sky Sports.
Moreton Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 trial look near the bottom, sound like there still is hope
