lookwhaticando Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 you guys do realise that this is not Paulo Ferreira?!?!Just because his surname is Ferreira it does not mean he is any good. If he was any good would he be touting a move to the bright lights of Leicestershire It can't be hard to get players to come to Leicester. Just make subtle references to some kind of "square" and the WAGs of the players will think it's Leicester Square where it's so clearly 'happening' these days.
MikeyT Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_2667615,00.htmlWe're close to getting him according to SSN. Who is he? Anyone heard of him? And most importantly... is he a left winger?!! If so then problem solved... if he's good... Sounds good to me, get him in!!!
Geo V Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 After todays game, I`d love to see some more creativity in the side from the middle of the park. I hope this deal happens.
Kilworthfox Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 This is scoring a free kick for PortoMarco Ferreira speaking Portuguese Translator please!
MPH Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 This is scoring a free kick for Porto from 11-13 seconds on the vid, after scoring that goal... he looked a bit gay running off....
Charnwood Norris Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 I think he'd be mid-low premiership material. If a club like Derby showed interest... I can't see him signing. Him on the left, Kaebi (where is he anyway?) on the right looks good on paper.
Zingari Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 This is scoring a free kick for PortoMarco Ferreira speaking Portuguese Translator please! he's saying that ever since he was a young boy his ambition was to play for leicester city and make them a world class team
Mikey Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 In the Sunday Mirror it says: LEICESTER are poised to sign Marco Ferreira from Benfica on a season-long loan deal. Ferreira, 28, is desperate to leave Portugal after being frozen out of the Benfica side by manager Fernando Santos. The Portuguese midfielder could make his move permanent with Leicester insisting on an option to purchase him for £680,000 at the end of the season. Couldn't find it on the website so I wrote it in. Also I know the Sunday Mirror does post a lot of bollocks but I though I had better just put this on Sorry, if it's been posted before.
The People's Hero Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 from 11-13 seconds on the vid, after scoring that goal... he looked a bit gay running off.... For the benefit of Thracian - he means 'sordid'.
Joe. Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 I'm just praying we get this guy.... Anything is better than Newton.
STUHILL Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Desperately need a player with flair, and not the Ric kind! He seems to fit the bill, I just hope this is not a similar story to the Theo Jannsen one that came up which I think also had a credible link like this one but never materialised! Hope to see him sign on monday or tuesday! ALso hope he is very comfortable at LM as I think Kaebi with all his hype should be a regular at RM.
Daggers Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Anything is better than Newton. Josh Low or Momo?
RowlattsFox Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 This is what a portuguese member on a forum i post on said; He's a winger. He was in Porto in the Mourinho era. Not the smartest player, but I've always liked him, because he's hard working.
NorthernFox Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Quality. Quote me if im wrong. Cmon Leicester
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 As I've told a few people off here already, I've herd the names thats about it. Not suprising really it looks like he's never stayed in one place for long enough for his name to be connected with any kind of club! Mind you if the Ricster thinks he's got the goods that will do me.

The only worry is he doesn't appear to settle at clubs for long.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Can he cross. Hardly any Portugese wingers can cross properly.
Ric Flair Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Can he cross. Hardly any Portugese wingers can cross properly. If i'm honest i've witnessed about 3 or 4 full games when he's played. But even then, it takes a player to have to do something really good or really bad to make them stand out, otherwise they tend to go un-noticed (like Clive Clarke who I must have seen play numerous times but can't remember him in any of them). So for me to remember him, it's because he impressed me. He looked quick and positively aggressive. I think he played left wing in a couple of those games, my instant reaction when I heard we were linked with him was that he was a left winger. His crossing as far as I can remember was pretty good, i'm sure he set one of the goals up in one of the games with a low cross round the back of the defence, the sort of cross Tony Cottee or Michael Owen love/d. He also came on against Celtic in the UEFA Cup final and played a part in Porto's extra time winner. It will be a coup if we get him. You don't play for Portugal, win numerous domestic and European medals and be classed as a failure. For a club of our stature and at the level we are at, it will be a big signing.

Funny you should say that, I was thinking that but the opposite. I've obviously watched him quite a few times (Channel 5 late night Supa Liga games were often watched at Uni) but aside from the name I remember nothing, so obviously he wasn't that good. The club hoping wouldn't of helped I'm increadible slow at keeping up with transfers.
