RedOnRed Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Ive heard that when MA went to CIty the staff at MKdons were,to put it lightly VERY HAPPY!can you confirm??? I haven't heard that. A mate of mine is employed at the Dons at a very high level but I haven't been able to chat with him since Allen's departure. What was very self evident was that he fell out with a huge amount of players and you do get an overwhelming sense that it's a far happier camp now since he left. A positive legacy is that he signed us half a dozen very good players that i'm not sure anyone else would have had the foresight, skill of judgment or inclination to bring in.
Nationwider Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 All well and good...IF the manager had been foisted upon Mandaric. But he wasn't. By Mandy's own words - the appointment was on the back of an "exhaustive" interview process. Which all indicates that Mandaric doesn't know his arse from a bunch of highly sought after coconuts. True, but then he managed to lose Harry Redknapp. At least he appears to be able to learn from his mistakes. And I'm just feeling like a contrary bastard tonight in the face of the predictable hyperbole(ocks).
Lichfieldfox. Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Speechless 24 hours. Bad decision Milan. Allens next team will be my second team from now
step Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 from bbc gossip column Leicester manager Martin O'Neill could be replaced by Brendan Rodgers, who is part of Chelsea's backroom staff. (Daily Mirror)
MC Prussian Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 What's this? I come back home late from work, log in and see 70 percent of the board's content gone into oblivion. Then I read the first headline - ALLEN SACKED - and I'm like "You gotta be kiddin' me!". It's such an awful joke, I'm still laughing. This decision is not reasonably founded. My guess is Allen had to leave because he had a different Leicester team in mind than Mandy - I'd say the Hasselbaink Issue probably topped it. Still, it leaves me guessing and surprised. This is not a very sensitive decision (the manager didn't really have enough time to prove himself, the Clarke Situation), but then again, it's Mandaric's money and he can do as he pleases. Football Capitalism par excellence. And we're the laughing stock of the league. Again.
Frenzied Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 A baffling decision. Mandaric needs to give us full and truthful explanation of what went on and why he sacked Allen. He owes us that. It's a shame we don't have any decent journalists in Leicester capable of getting the story, rather than report what will undoubtedly be a load of spin.
Daggers Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 True, but then he managed to lose Harry Redknapp. At least he appears to be able to learn from his mistakes. And I'm just feeling like a contrary bastard tonight in the face of the predictable hyperbole(ocks). I'd if I wasn't so
Lord Nibblington Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 True, but then he managed to lose Harry Redknapp. At least he appears to be able to learn from his mistakes. And I'm just feeling like a contrary bastard tonight in the face of the predictable hyperbole(ocks). Of course, as it now turns out that MA was the wrong man, he doesn't seem to have learnt much in the way of picking a manager.
RedOnRed Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Chin up lads. Personally I think Allen was alright for us and Brentford but I think you could do a lot better and i'm sure you will. You've got financial backing which goes a long way...relax - it'll be alright i'm sure.
davieG Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 What decent manager will come here now? Anyone with any boll0x will know it's Manderic picking the team. All we'll get is a desperate willy puller like Roeder. Plenty because they know it's good money, Allen wont lose much sleep over this, he'll easily get a job at a Championship/League 1 team and in the meantime he and his entourage will be sitting nicely counting out their compensation cash. I'll weep no tears for Allen but I fear the worst because MM is just appallingly crap at finding successful managers who can work with him, one so far. This club desperately needs some stability and it's not going to happen with MM. Enjoy the roller coaster folks this is the future - like it or not, frankly I don't I was never keen on MM but accepted him as there seemed no viable alternative. Suffice to say if these shenanigans continue I will have grave doubts be renewing my season ticket it's so unseemly. If it's the likes of Roeder, Megsom or Warnock i might even consider a garage sale
Staf Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Chin up lads. Personally I think Allen was alright for us and Brentford but I think you could do a lot better and i'm sure you will. You've got financial backing which goes a long way...relax - it'll be alright i'm sure. I wish i felt like that

From a fan of another club that means a lot. Cheers mate. Glad you're still about, too.
the_bowman Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Well - forking - done Mardyric I really thought MA was the man to take us forward 3 months does not warrant sacking time, especially after just pre-season and 3 games tw@
Daggers Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 The upside is that at least RedOnRed will stop posting here.
Geo V Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 it could be worse lads!we could be leeds fans! Time to rekindle the love I had for the team I supported as a kid. Come on Liverpool
C-man Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I feel really cheated as a fan. I feel disgusted. I'm so shocked it's unbelievable. I want to do something about this situation, but what can we do? After all, Mandaric said he'd listen to the fans What really scares me is what manager in their right mind would manage us now?!
Nationwider Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Of course, as it now turns out that MA was the wrong man, he doesn't seem to have learnt much in the way of picking a manager. I knew this was a bad idea. Let's give him a freebie cock-up as well?
Flynny Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 What really scares me is what manager in their right mind would manage us now?! Glenn Roeder? ... fuck
marbelladave Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 In the light of todays events MM has decided on a new club motto to come into effect immediately! Meus via vel altus
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 What really scares me is what manager in their right mind would manage us now?! Harry Redknapp?
Nationwider Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 The upside is that at least RedOnRed will stop posting here. That may have been part of MM's thinking...
RedOnRed Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I wish i felt like that To sack and have to pay off a manager so early on is a massive embarrassment and admission of getting his appointment wrong. The decision wouldn't have been taken lightly to say the least. For every bit of Allen's PR excercises there must have been a massive amount of unbareable shit going on behind the scenes for it to come to this. No doubt Allen and MM will never talk about it as it's not the done thing.
Mort Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Time to rekindle the love I had for the team I supported as a kid. Come on Liverpool hmmm... Sunderland got tw*ted last night, on the plus side "we" can now concentrate on the league... Kean-o, Kean-o, Kean-o...!
