The People's Hero Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Martin Ling (L 'Orient) is a superb manager and would do a brilliant job for us. French club, non? Is this a trick by Leyton Orient/L'Orient? I think I've cracked a footballing shenanigan.
Kent Fox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Martin Ling (L. Orient) is a superb manager and would do a brilliant job for us. That's twice you have mentioned him. Are you Martin Ling?
Geo V Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 You forgot the letter K lads. Martin L King would be an inspirational manager for us. Get him in.
Master Fox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 There's an Insane Bus....WHERE???Stick your optimistic bus up your @rse....im on the insane one!!! RAJ! RAJ! Over here…!! There's a spare seat next to me. PS: I suffer from chronic body odour though, I hope that's ok?
oundlefox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 BBC website now saying Paul Sturrock being targeted for Allen's job. Hardly an inspiring choice in my humble opinion
Master Fox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Please God no. Sturrock! Sturrock! Sturrock! Let's do it...

Geo V Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 BBC website now saying Paul Sturrock being targeted for Allen's job. Hardly an inspiring choice in my humble opinion He is gormless. The good news is he likes his teams playing football but every interview I have seen him he seems spaced out. Almost zombyfied . I hope it doesnt happen but i fear the worst as the Beeb are quite accurate.
demon_dog Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Strange, no news as yet on todays website. They normally have something to say. It's now 15:35 and nothing! Does this mean an annoucement is imminent.
Pete_foxes Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 ffs.. Paul Sturrock the guy that Sheffield Wednesday sacked last season? Oh yes please Sorry.. but I'd prefer Warnock!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 ffs.. Paul Sturrock the guy that Sheffield Wednesday sacked last season? Oh yes please Sorry.. but I'd prefer Warnock! A message, to the best footzball supporters in the world.... An anagram of Paul Sturrock is 'A Corrupt Sulk' or 'Patrol Ruckus'. I am therefore against this appointment as concepts such as 'ruckus' or 'corrupt' or indeed a sulker do not go hand in hand with successful footzball management GMM- Gash Manager Management
Bryn Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Never seen his managerial record before... full of promotions. Maybe he ain't so bad after all. I based my negative opinions based on the fact that he was shit with Southampton and the fact that he looks like a bellend.
filbertway Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 He's got a good record of getting teams promoted, but I suppsoe we shouldbe looking to appoint people like Mark Hughes, David Moyes standard.
marko Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If i remember correctly he did a decent job at Sheff Wed and the fans were a bit upset when he was sacked.
Milans & Milans of £'S Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Why do people want Allen back?! He wanted rid of our youth team - a youth team that won their league last year! I could list more reasons too. Whoever takes over should be able to get us promoted no probs, but what we need is a guy who's gonna keep us up there. Milan also needs to trust the manager. It's alright giving them fancy players, but the manager needs to be given the money to buy what players he wants. A new manager: Sturrock - NO. This guy has Craig Levein written all over him. Roeder - I dunno why your all so opposed to this cos he did ok with the Hammers, and no-one could fix Newcastle at the time. Keegan - Why couldn't we get him?! Okacha just joined Hull didn't he?! Ruud Gullit - I do believe he's recently said that he'd like to manage again and possibly do it in England. This would be my fave. Dowie - Not too sure if he could keep us up once we're up. Grayson - Too inexperienced for my liking. Nice idea for the future though. Bryan Little - Worst things have happened, but a bit past it even in the management stakes methinks. Jewell - I like this guy, but I think we'd struggle to convince him that he can do what he wants. O'Leary - He's gained experience now. The big Q is whether he's learned from it or not. Hoddle - Not convinced. He didn't do a good enough job with Wolves (the Championships other sleeping giant). Jimmy Calderwood - Unsure. Jamie Redknapp - Won't happen cos Milan wants experince, but I think he'd be worth a risk. Steve Clarke - Gotta be a second fave of mine. He's certainly gonna have experience, even if it is just as an asst mgr. Stuart Pearce- Too much Nottingham Forest history, plus he wants to concentrate on England U21's. Graham Souness - Has no-one thought of this guy?! Once promoted, he could keep us there! Has shed loads of experience too! Gotta be another favourite? Peter Reid - Don't think this would work out...he wouldn't keep us completely clear of relegation battles in the prem. So, what about these managers?
dandannieldanok Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If i remember correctly he did a decent job at Sheff Wed and the fans were a bit upset when he was sacked. Correct From Owlstalk: His football style can be frustrating.Goes for players who have played for his former clubs. Top bloke and a good manager. If backed, would get you up there imo. If he goes to Leicester I'll be gutted. Aye he'll get to the premiership before us and have the last laugh as usual.
Cobbo Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Sturrock would make me sick. But I'm sure they're just rumours...

Both have a proven history of cocking up wherever they go! Ok Souness got one promotion, Bryan Robson has two but would you want him here? I've said it before - I think we should go for Gary Johnson of Bristol City. He's got a great track record wherever he's been and has experience of international football with Latvia. Also has a good win percentage if I remember rightly.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007  http://www.swindontownfc.premiumtv.co.uk/p...1106876,00.html This is a second club statement from an OS that rumours have forced in less than 48 hours.
