Gené and Tonic Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Well, we've heard about Roeder and Warnock. And that bloke from Chelsea Didn't think there'd be a thread like this for a long time!

Tomassi Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I think Paul Jewell might actually fancy the job? Before he kept Bradford in the top flight - you dont get 30,000 bradford fans... ...he kept wigan in the top flight - you dont get 10,000 wigan fans... ...now a successful Leicester side attacts 30,000+, maybe thats appealing? And he is one bloke who i cant understand gets successful but he must know a thing or two? There aint any other candidates i like at the moment apart from Jean 'Cant speak English' Tigana? Having said the above, i am well and truly shocked at the Mandaric decision especially after Watford, but i have to say the fans were getting on Allens back at the Forest match...

Nick Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 It matters not who we want the manager to be. The manager has alreay been picked. Two days before the transfer window closes, the new manager - unveiled or not will be behind any incoming transfers, and will have been behind them for the last week. Otherwise the media would not have known that MA was leaving more than four days ago, as they clearly did. We will have a new manager by the end of next week and that manager will know exactly who these signings are, even if we have never heard of them. I don't believe that this is simply about the ruffling of feathers or pride over the JFH affair. It is deeper than that. Milan's three year business plan of a premiership assault has changed. As he said in his statement RE: MA, the key is the promotion push for this season. The share deals he did upon buying the club, the tv rights money for those being relegated next year means for him the financial outlay and the need for goals and points is paramount. N.

Nick Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 that makes suprisingly sensible reading for 1am.... I rarely make sense before midnight. Cheers MPH. N.
James_lcfc Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Paul Jewell all the way for me!! Similar to Martin in terms of his no nonsense approach etc and always seems to talk sense. I'd be gutted if we got Roeder or Warnock.....
lookwhaticando Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 It's only a matter of time before Jewell is rumoured in the papers. It's only a matter of time before Warnock is linked again - after all, he was seemingly a nailed-on favourite a while ago... and Mandaric did suggest he would have appointed him were it not for Fan-Powerâ„¢.
MPH Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 k i have slept on it, about to go to work and here is my opinion: I still cant get this. its bloody ridiculous that we find ourselves in this position. yet again.
teblin Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Has to be Jewell for me. But fear it will be the guy from chelsea with glen roeder as DOF
shrek1970 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I'd like to see Paul Jewell but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Jamie Rednapp, I can still see mandric signing a couple more players before the transfer deadline-weather we have a manager or not.

Allen may have known before the Forest game that he was on his way regardless of the result. It would certainly help to explain the strange team selection and the listless performance. Jewell is probably the ONLY candidate in the frame who could restore what few shreds of credibility our chairman still has.
brookfox Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Peter Reid - http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/co...icle2906347.ece Gary Megson and/or Glenn Roeder - http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2158589,00.html Brendan Rodgers - http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=54480
Lester LXXIV Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 When I listened to the mandaric interview on SSN last night one sentence stood out for me. When asked something along the lines of "why now?" he replied by making reference to there not being much time. Being the typical transfer hungry fan that I am, I linked this to the fact the window is closing soon and he wants to buy more players and couldn't with MA at the helm...
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Paul Jewell. Steer well clear of Reid, Megson, Roeder and co. I could possibly tolerate Warnock if Jewell is out of the equation and the only other alternatives are the massive failures such as Roeder, Megson and Reid. This really is crazy.
The People's Hero Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Is anyone prepared to go Craig David all over my face? Failing that - would anyone care to give me a rewind?
Master Fox Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Is anyone prepared to go Craig David all over my face?Failing that - would anyone care to give me a rewind? I'll give you a rewind, But the Craig David usually goes all over the floor
jonw88 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Got to be Paul Jewell as first choice, if not then Simon Grayson, or how about STEVEY WALSH??!! We need someone who's Leicester through and through, someone with lots of passion but not quite so mad with it. NO NO NO to Reid, Warnock, Roeder, Chelsea gimp etc...
allard7 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Neil Warnock, hate the man but i feel he is a little bit like allen, passion. And tbh we wouldnt have a striker problem going on his times at sheffield.

Id be happy with that. Better than alot of the names that have been mentioned.
Dr The Singh Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 A rumour going around is : Simon Grayson and Brian Little as Sporting Director!! I don't buy it myself, I just thought I would post it though!!

Frenzied Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 It will certainly be interesting to see who he picks. I guess from Mandaric's point of view he'll have to be someone high-profile and with Premiership experience.
